You should wait until the the second model comes out, the one that gets more than 8 hours of battery life and has more than five weeks of touch-screen functionality.

No, it doesn't have a Z80 processor like the GBA does, so no GB/GBC for you. It does have the GBA's ARM7 processor though, so it can play GBA games, but you can't play GBA games multiplayer.
