The two deaths last night had shaken each of you. You shuddered as you thought: It could have been any one of us. Or at least that's what emotion told you. But a little hint of logic would tell you otherwise, because you
knew
that there were more evil ones among you. And it was your job -- all of you -- to hunt them down and put them to justice. And so you started in with a passion, trying to find the ones who killed Cortana and Samus last night.
It was almost too easy.
"I was the one who shot Samus last night." declared Shotty to the Body. "I don't know about Cortana, though."
After much deliberation amongst the group, you all figured that nobody who was evil would own up to having killed one of the victims last night -- or would they? Nevertheless, you decided to let her live for a while longer, because regardless of her alignment, she seemed to at least being honest. And for a time, you searched elsewhere for the evil ones.
You searched and searched. Searched for hours. Hours that felt like days, even weeks. You began to get so bored and tired that you wanted to go back to your room and catch some sleep. But you knew you couldn't sleep without putting yourself in grave danger. Nevertheless, your eyelids began to droop as you hunted for every last scrap of detail... but that's when you heard it.
"This one!" Muffin called, anxious and very nervous. "Over here! She's evil!"
And suddenly you were wide awake again. As you raced over to her, you realize that she is calling your attention to Robocopter87, and further, she began to argue adamantly that she'd spied on Robocopter87 the night before, and that her curiosities had proven useful. She'd found very convincing evidence that Robocopter87 was evil, and she was dying to share it with the rest of you!
"I went to her room last night, after everyone had gone to sleep." she began.
"What were you doing walking around the bunker at night?" pressed someone else. "That sounds pretty suspicious to me. You could be the one doing all the killing. And even if you're not, you know that you could have been killed last night, right?"
"Shhh, quiet. Let her finish." hushed another.
"Ok, so went to her room," continued Muffin. "and she was tossing and turning, like she was having a bad dream, like, moaning and twisting and all that. I could see her mouth moving through the porthole in her door, but I couldn't hear what she was saying... I... well, I opened her door, really quietly so I wouldn't wake her up, and then it hit me." She paused.
"What?" goaded yet another, standing to her left.
"That smell," she continued again. "The smell of... the smell of
evil
. I can't describe it to you, I only know deep down that it's absolutely, utterly evil. And then I heard her voice. It wasn't like it is now, she didn't even sound like she normally sounded. She was speaking in a deeper, sinister, almost guttural voice."
"What was she saying?" interrupted the first girl again, leaning forward, waiting with bated breath.
"She was saying... 'Kill them.' ... 'Kill them... all.'" said Muffin, and it was obvious that she was almost beyond fear.
"And then what?"
"Well, and then I ran back to my room and stayed under the sheets all night! I was barely even brave enough to get up this morning! She just... I don't know what's wrong with her, but I know she's evil, and I know she wants to kill us... I was so scared that I didn't even tell you until right now, I... I don't know why, but... I'm still scared."
"Well I for one am not one to mince words," said a snappy Ythan, and stood, walking over to where two others held Robocopter87 with her hands behind her back. "You're gonna tell us where you were last night, and you're gonna tell us now. Did you kill anyone? Don't even
think
about lying to me; I will
end
you."
Robocopter87 looked up, her face also drawn tight with fear.
"I don't know what you're talking about! I'm not evil, I promise! I had a weird, freaky dream last night, but I don't remember talking in my sleep, and I don't remember saying anything like that, and I'm not trying to
kill
anyone, for crying out loud!" she spoke rapid-fire; her apprehension was so tangible that it could have been cut with a knife.
Murmurs went around the room, and people were much quicker to deliberate than before.
"Kill her." said bv310.
"You already know
want her dead," said MagnaofIllusion.
More than half agreed, and so Ythan went to the weapons locker and pulled out a poison grenade. After donning a protective gasmask and advising the others in the bunker to do the same, she strode purposefully over to Robocopter87 and grabbed her hair, pulling it back and nearly snapping her neck in the process. As Robocopter87 cried out in pain, Ythan took the opportunity and slammed the gas grenade violently into Robocopter87's mouth. You could hear teeth splinter, and Robocopter87's gagged screams in conjunction with her wide-eyed looks of terror and pain made more than one of the less stout-hearted look away. But Ythan held firmly onto the back of Robocopter87's hair, and made sure that the weapon did its frightful work.
After ten seconds, Robocopter87 stopped struggling. After thirty seconds, Ythan released her grip and stepped back out of the faint purplish green cloud of smoke that was growing around the newly deceased body, but not before reaching into the front of her shirt and ripping the dog tags from around her neck.
"Keep your masks on until the filtration system clears the air, it should take about five minutes to fully eradicate." she commanded through her speech modulator.
And then, she looked down at the cold metal tags in her hand, as she lifted them up to get a closer look.
"Damn. She wasn't lying." Ythan stated.
"Robocopter87 really
was
who she said she was."
Robocopter, Chun Li, has been destroyed.
