Mini 180 - Flavourless Mafia - Game Over!

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Tue Apr 12, 2005 10:05 am

Post by Jaguar »

Welcome to the kitchen. I'ts not as grand as Kitchen Stadium, and there are no Iron Chefs, but it's a kitchen nonetheless. I am sorry to say that this kitchen is severely lacking in flavour, but that is due to dietary constraints. So in our instance, bland is good!

It has been noted by some of the more observant of the group of you that not everyone is entirely bland. The bad news is, flavour in this instance is bad. Your task: Try to eliminate the not so flavourless individuals from your midst before the kitchen gets overpowered by wonderful smelling and tasting food.

How true to life... The good stuff is always bad for you...

Alive and Cooking: (2/12)

CoolBot
Fletcher (replacing The_Machine86)

Spiced out of this kitchen: (10/12)

Thesp - Banana - Night 1.
Corsato - Plain Pasta - Kicked out Day 1
Someone - Bouillion - Night 2
Vesuvan - Spicy Sauce - kicked out day 2
Phoebus (replacing Pursuit) - Banana - Night 3
mepmuff - 5-Alarm Chili - kicked out day 3
Save The Dragons - Potato - Night 4
Maximumum (replacing meaning of life 42) - Bouillion - kicked out day 4
vikingfan - Bouillion - Night 5
SpeedyKQ - The Jalapeno Pepper - kicked out day 5

The Rules
(stolen from somewhere and slightly modified by yours truly)

• Votes must be in
bold
. If you do not bold your
vote
, it will not be counted.
• Please be attentive and
unvote
, if necessary, before casting a new vote. If you don't unvote, your voting status will not change and hence no new vote will be registered.
• Executions will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached the necessary majority, his pleas are useless and any attempts to unvote will be unheeded. You may
vote: no lynch
– majority votes of this kind are necessary to end the day without a death.
• The game is not to be discussed outside of the thread unless your role specifically states that you may do so.
• Once your death scene has been posted, you’re dead. Stop typing.
• Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts
• Don’t quote any PMs from me.
• If you have a night choice to make, it is due by the posted deadline. I will not wait for you – if you do not submit a choice to me, tough! No choice will be made.
If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period, please post a notice to that effect in the thread.
Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging. The whole weekend (From Sat 0:00 to Sun 23:59) will count as one 24 hour period.
• Remember, it’s a game. It’s supposed to played. It’s supposed to be
fun
. Do your part.

Hhhm. Food. Everyone loves food. Even bland foods are good from time to time and in this instance, spices are just not good for the digestive system. We all know it.

Thesp especially, knew that bland foods don't necessarily taste bad. Take a banana for example. Lots of flavour, but still considered bland. Too bad that banana's don't really do well with hot and spicy stuff. I've heard of fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches, banana splits, bananarama (oh wait, wrong game), but never of spicy banana. Thesp realizes that somehow he ended up spiced and there's nothing he can do about it in the kitchen.

Thesp
- Banana - spiced beyond belief

Hang around on a tree in a bunch..?

I'm guessing that if it had a role, that role would be revealed, so probably a townie. *shrug* not much to go off, really.

Okay, time to random vote for the last person to post this time...

vikingfan - 1 (Corsato)
The_Machine86 - 1 (Save The Dragons)
Save The Dragons - 1 (someone)

Either that, or Jaguar's not revealing the roles. I guess we'll see when another one dies.

Unvote, Vote MoL
I don't know why, but I don't think you've been in a game with me for a while...

Seems most likely Thesp was a townie. But if cops and/or docs don't get revealed upon death, I wonder if it is more of an advantage to the town or to the scum? The extra lack of information is probably not a good thing. I think at least we'll be able to figure out when mafia dies. If we're all foods, I expect habanero pepper = bad guy.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but not revealing roles at death seems to favor the mafia....

Well, it doesn't help the mafia directly so much as it hinders the town's ability to go through a cop or doctor's posts and see if they had left any "breadcrumbs" to verify someone as innocent, or in the case of a cop, suspect someone as scum. So by hindering the town, it would help the mafia somewhat.

And yes, from the introduction, it seems like we would be able to identify the mafia quite easily as spicy foods.

Also, I believe we are only waiting on The_Machine and Pursuit to post? I'm hesitant to lurker-vote this early in the game, but if they don't post in the next couple of days, that may be the necessary next step.

I think it might actually hinder the mafia a bit. If they don't know if there's an investigating role out there, it severely limits thair claiming options.

I agree with Vesuvan that mafia would be easily spotted, which leads me to believe that other roles will be as well. But that's not of much use to discuss right now. We'll get some more to go on automatically when we get a claim or another dead body.

This smells of a possible attempt at an alibi. Best place for my vote at this moment in time (as it's very unlikely posted by a Good Role (tm)).

This would only be true if we would know that there are no special roles. Otherwise we can not tell if a claim is false.

You call my vote lame, I say it's lame to state you didn't know the game had started. For me that's along the lines of posting in the thread that your PM said you're vanilla (pun intended) and asking if that means you're a townie.
