SOLVED: Unread Posts Error?

I use Bookmarks. A lot. My best friend is the little red icon that tells me there are unread posts. I click it often, because it takes me to the beginning of any posts I haven't read.

Lately my friend has been undependable. He's taken me two or three posts up from the most recent unread posts. While this usually isn't a problem, it's still a sign of something wrong. Is it just my machine, or is it a site thing?

For reference: MacBook Pro running Firefox.

I only notice this happening if I'm on my smartphone (which can't quite keep up with the jump to the individual post while it's rendering), or if I'm in a picture-heavy thread like FWAN, where the images push my viewpoint 'up' the page when they finish loading.

Nope; universal thing, though the images did happen before.

this: <a id="unread"></a>

is suposed to be automatically generated in the html above the first unread post, the quickest way for you to check if its a browser side error or server side one would be to make sure that tag is in the html source right above the first unread post. (right click>view page source>ctrl f on that page for the above)

Does it make any difference if you use, say, Bookmarks vs a Forum view?

Nope.

From my address bar:

Code: Select all

Your address bar is generating right, did you check for the tag I said to?

Yeah it's generating that.

Then the problem is in your browser.
