Mini 24: Dogmafia, Game over: Mafia wins

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Thu Jan 30, 2003 11:40 am

Post by DoomCow »

This minigame is based on the Kevin Smith movie Dogma

The catholic church has started a campaign to make the catholic belief structure more acceptible to young people. The start will be given at the day a New Jersey Church will celebrate its 100th anniversary. On this day, anyone who passes through the archway leading into the church, will be forgiven all his sins.

Two renegade angels, banished from heaven, read about this in a newspaper clipping, send to them by an unknown source. They see a chance to get back to heaven and decide to take it. By passing through the gates they are forgiven of their sins and all they have to do to get home after that is die.

However, in the case of this event, God would be proven false, and since God is infallible, all of existance shall be undone. Only a few can prevent the destruction of all existance.

I can just see the roleclaims in this one. "I'm Silent Bob" "You can't be Silent Bob! You're talking!"
Beaudoin responds: "Hey! Well, no hard feeling, I guess. Since 2 is greater than 3, I'll help y'all string up Medicated Lain" -jeep, Minigame 20

Metatron:
Noah was a drunk. Look what he accomplished. And no one's even asking you to build an ark. All you have to do is go to New Jersey.
Bethany:
New ]ersey.
Metatron: Sure. Go to New Jersey and visit a small church on a very important day. Agreed?
Bethany:
That doesn't sound like a crusade.
Metatron:
Aside from the fine print, that's it.
Bethany:
What's the fine print?
Metatron:
[mumbling into glass]
Stopacoupleofangelsfromenteringandthusnegatingallexistence. Damn, this is good tequila.
Bethany:
Wait, wait, wait. Repeat that.
Metatron:
"Damn, this is good tequila"?
Bethany:
The first part.
Metatron:
Details. Stop a couple of angels from entering and thus negating all existence. God, I hate when people need it spelled out for them.

Need a few more confirmations/choices... won't be on-line 'till the deadline though... So, make sure I get those choices in at time, and preferably the confirmations as well...

Any questions will be answered after the deadline...

As dawn breaks, ten people arrive at the New Jersey Church. Thw first thing you notice is that awfull smell.. Something went bad out here... Closing in on the direction of the smell you find a large, brown heap of... something... and after a bit of searching through it, you find the lifeless body of Serendipity (better known to you as Dragon Slayer) is stuffed in it. She clearly couldn't take the smell and suffocated.

Going back to the entrance of the church, you notice blood dripping down. As you look up, you see Corsato hanging on the top of the church. His robes reveal he was Cardinal Ignatius Glick, the spokesperson of the Catholicism WOW! campaign.

In response to the deaths, one of you sets up a crucifix and after that, you all start your crusade.

Dragon Slayer (Serendipity), killed by suffocated
Corsato (Cardinal Glick), hung onto his own church

With 10 alive, it's 6 to lynch

Two seemingly random votes against me? Must not be my lucky day.

I'm curious as to what abilities, if any, Serendipity and Glick would have had. I'm pretty sure Serendipity would have been very useful, but I'm not so sure about Glick (seeing as he basically started the whole mess in the movie by creating the dogmatic loophole). Still, they were both good guys in the movie, and good guys dead = bad for town.
