Mini 192 - Circus mafia - Game Over! Discuss?

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Thu May 19, 2005 6:13 am

Post by dybeck »

Lights up!

Doors!

With a crash of cymbals, the big band strikes up a brassy chorus of good time music that can mean only one thing - Dybeck's Circus of Fun is in town!

It's nearly time for the performance to start... the Big Top is alight with excited and expectant chatter. Candy-floss-eating children drag mums and dads eagerly to the front of the audience - desperately trying to get the best possible view of the night's fantastic entertainment.

Who knows what to expect? One thing's for certain - it's all going to kick off very shortly! For a few nights only... welcome... ladies and gentlemen... to the Greatest... Show... In... Town!!

Performers:

LoudmouthLee
Nightfall
JereIC
mepmuff

In the great circus in the sky:

Quailman, MASON, pro-town, SHOT NIGHT 1
Yggdrasil, CLAIRVOYANT, pro-town, STABBED NIGHT 1
PBuG, MASON, pro-town, SHOT NIGHT 2
Phoebus, SK/MASON, anti-town, FIRED NIGHT 2
davidangelsummers, RINGMASTER, pro-town, STABBED NIGHT 2
Rubric, CLOWN, mafia godfather, LYNCHED DAY 2
Stewie, CLOWN, mafia goon, LYNCHED DAY 3
d_rouge, ESCAPOLOGIST, unlynchable townie, SHOT NIGHT 4
brushhopper, CLOWN, mafia goon, LYNCHED DAY 4

GAME OVER! GO TOWN!

First crime of the game is the shameless theft of these rules:

Votes must be in bold. If you do not bold your vote, it will not be counted.

Please be attentive and unvote, if necessary, before casting a new vote. This is not required, but I’d appreciate it.

Lynching will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached the necessary majority, his pleas are useless and any attempts to unvote will be unheeded. You may vote: no lynch – majority votes of this kind are necessary to end the day without a death.

If I feel the game is lagging, I reserve the right to impose a deadline. If there is no regular majority at this time, the day will end with NO LYNCH.

The game is not to be discussed outside of the thread unless your role specifically states that you may do so.

Once your death scene has been posted, you’re dead. Stop typing.

Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts.

Don’t quote any PMs from me.

If you have a night choice to make, it is due by the posted deadline. I will not wait for you – if you do not submit a choice to me, tough! No choice will be made.

If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period, please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.

Remember, it’s a game. It’s supposed to played. It’s supposed to be fun. Do your part.

Thanks!

The first night's performance runs as smoothly as clockwork. Act after act perform to gasps of excitement from the crowd.

Then... the grand finale...

The amazing Quailman will perform his death-defying leap from the trapeze into the waiting arms of his trapeze partner. He lets go of his trapeze, and sails through the air. The crowd are on the edge of their seats. Will he make it?

Yes?

The sound of gunshot echoes through the tent. His catcher looks in horror as a lifeless Quailman falls to the canvas floor.

The reaction is almost immediate. Screaming erupts from the crowd while panicking families run in every direction.

Even the mysterious Yggdrasil, with his clairvoyant powers, failed to foresee this event. What he has foreseen however, is that moments later, he would meet a hooded figure. He turns.

'I know why you're here.' he says.

'So why aren't you running?'

'One cannot cheat one's fate.'

With that, the hooded figure plunges a knife deep between Yggdrasil's ribs. Yggdrasil slumps to the ground.

Quailman, PROTOWN MASON, has been SHOT.
Yggdrasil, PROTOWN CLAIRVOYANT, has been STABBED.

It is DAY 1 - get scum-hunting!

Please, PBug. How about voting for a real reason?

OMGUS, but not Random Vote: PBug
.

Everytime I see a "opening day lamenter", they are scum. Betting men will definately join me in looking at PBug closely.

Ultimately, no one will listen anyway. Sucks to be me.

Well, okay then.

Nightfall, I'll assume you're new. Its how I play. If you don't like it, that's fine.

I pull no punches. I believe PBug is scum. If he proves otherwise, I'll unvote. He hasn't yet.

He random voted me, but that WASN'T why I voted him.

You mean Rubric? Anyways, I kinda agree with the reason you voted PBug. It's good enough for day one.

Nightfall's post refers to the fact that he's asked to be replaced in this game due to time constraints. I think I have a replacement in the bag, however.

I'll give you more details after he's confirmed his role. This will probably happen shortly after I've sent him his role.

I have no problem with how you play.
I pull no punches. I believe PBug is scum. If he proves otherwise, I'll unvote. He hasn't yet.

He random voted me, but that WASN'T why I voted him.
If you weren't criticizing his random vote, why did you say "How about a real reason?"

If you weren't retaliating, why did you say "OMGUS" (which I presume means Oh my God, you suck.)
Read, please
Sure thing, Nightfall.

Good to be in, I'll post once I've read the thread.
.
.
.
And I'm done. I read LoudMouthLee's post as kind of joking with the OMGUS and random-vote reasoning, so Rubric seems to be barking up the wrong tree with that. He seems a little too eager at it, so he's most suspicious in my book. It's probably nothing, but it is better than a random vote methinks.

It was just an arbitrary vote. LoudmouthLee was the only person who had really said anything of substance, so I commented on it when I voted.

I will say, however, that his agressive response set off a couple of alarms for me.
