General Rules

  1. Common sense applies in all things. If something seems iffy, you probably shouldn't be doing it. Or at least check with someone (aka THE MODS) before you do.
  2. You may talk to anyone at any time, so long as the current challenge doesn’t prohibit it.
  3. For information on the game, read this.
  4. I understand that drama may come with the territory, but let’s all be on good behaviour for the most part.
  5. Bolded Red
is animorpherv1’s modding colour for this game, and
    Bolded Green
    is JDGA’s modding colour.
    DO NOT USE THEM
    or face severe penalties.
  6. Failure to comply with the rules will result in the form of a penalty. Anything from warning to modkill may ensure.
  7. At [REDACTED] players remaining, a Jury will start to form. Every eliminated contestant from that point to when [REDACTED] players remain will take part in the Jury. In the event that a member of the Jury in unable to serve Jury duty (due to site flakes, modkills or anything else), the most recently eliminated person that was not modkilled will take part in the Jury instead.
  8. We may add or delete rules in here at any time
    and without warning.

Challenge Rules

  1. Most of the game will consist of “Challenges”. These challenges have been and picked by JDGA and animorpherv1, for what we believe are maximum fairness and fun!
  2. The first challenge of each round will always be a HoH (Head of Husehold) challenge. Whoever wins HoH
    must
    nominate 2 people for evicition.
  3. After the HoH challenge, there will be a PoV (Power of Veto) challenge. The winner of the PoV
    may
take one person off of the block. If someone is taken off of the block, the HoH
    must
re-nominate someone who isn’t himself, the person holding PoV, or the person that was nominated but taken off.
  4. Additionally, there are Luxury challenges placed throughout the game. The person (or people, in some cases) that wins Luxury will get a reward in the form of a challenge advantage for one full round (2 challenges).

HoH Challenge #1 – Popularity

Welcome to
Big Brother: Espionage
, everyone! Your first HoH is simple. You get to vote on who wins HoH. To vote on who wins HoH, use the format
VOTE: Contestant
. Likewise, you can unvote by posting
UNVOTE: Contestant
. You may also use vote tags if you wish. Since there are 14 of you, it takes 8 to have a majority. Whoever gets a majority vote wins HoH.

You have 72 hours. In the event that a majority is not reached, then whoever got the most votes wins. If that ties, then whoever got to their first wins HoH.

Luxury Challenge #1 - Give & Take

First up, these are the pairs for this Luxury Challenge:

D3f3nd3r & kloud1516
Crazy & DeathNote
Kdowns & TheBadOne
CryMeARiver & MattP
Nicholas1024 & kondi2424
Framm 18 & T-Bone
xRECKONERx & Mist7676

Each person must then submit either GIVE or TAKE via PM. If both people in the pair submit GIVE, they have to submit again. If one submits GIVE, and the other submits TAKE, then whoever submitted TAKE wins Luxury. If both submit TAKE, you knock each other out, and no one wins Luxury. In the event that someone doesn’t submit, the other person automatically wins reward.

You all have 24 hours.

PoV Challenge #1 – Eyeballing

Are you good at eyeballing items? If so, then this might be your challenge. To win, you must play this game. In the event that you can get a score you deem worth submitting, then screenshot it and PM it to JDGA & myself. Whoever gets the lowest score wins. In the event of a tie, whoever has the fastest time wins PoV.

For the Luxury winners, 1 point will be taken off of your final score. You have 24 hours.

PoV #1 Results

With a final score of
2.66
,
Crazy
wins! Crazy scored 3.66 without the -1 from the Luxury, just .03 points ahead of Mist's 3.69.

Crazy, you have 24 hours to post in thread who you will be using the PoV on, if any.

Eviction Ceremony #1

I’d like to welcome you all to your first eviction ceremony. After the votes have been read, one of you will be going home. As outgoing HoH, xRECKONERx, you may not vote, but you are encouraged (but not forced) to send in the survey anyways. The same goes to our nominees, Mist7676 and TheBadOne. You may both not vote, but are encouraged to send in the survey. To everyone else, when you submit your vote (via PM),
please
answer the survey at the same time, and in full sentences. You have 24 hours (1 day) from this post to send in your vote.

Question #1: What is your strategy for the game?
Question #2: Have you formed any alliances? If so, with who?
Question #3: Do you regret your submission (or lack thereof) in Give and Take? Why?
Question #4: Who is the strongest player in the game currently? The weakest?
Question #5: Who are you voting for tonight? Why?

Eviction Ceremony #1 Results

By a vote of 7-3, Mist7676....

You have been eliminated from the Big Brother house. You may have one post to say your goodbyes, before you are blown into smithereens.

A few things. As of now, there is to be no vote swapping in the Elimination Ceremonies (aka, voting for one person, then changing your mind and voting for the other). Also, I will be checking in with JDGA to see what he wants to do in regards to when someone doesn't vote. I may or may not be retroactively applied to the 1 person who didn't vote.

The HoH challenge will be tentatively set up for 6:30 pm tomorrow. If this changes, I intend on giving you notice a few hours in advance. Thanks.

HoH Challenge #2 - True or False

Below is a 10 question survey about Mafiascum. You have 24 hours to PM me whether each question is True or False.

Code: Select all

1) Rounded to the nearest 1000, there are 3000 pages in the mainspace of the Wiki.
2) With 257 pages, Planet MafiaScum is the longest MishMash thread ever.
3) The most common mafia gametype is Mini Theme.
4) The term OMGUS was created in the year 2002 on Grey Labyrinth.
5) The Encryption and everything related to it has mysteriously vanished from mafiascum.net.
6) Amstaad, the site's recently-revived RPG, was originally created in 2004.
7) 2004, incidentally, was also the first year of the site.
8) If Mini Theme games are the most-often created, then Large Theme games are the most-often viewed due to their larger playercount.
9) The infamous Forum 62 was created after JDGA's re-entry to the forums in December 2010.
10) Finally, the best movie ever as judged by UXYS1½ was Requiem for a Dream.
Remember, no looking for the answers!

As a note about the non-submitting for votes, we're doing the 3 strikes rule. Miss 3 votes and you're out.

As for the luxury winners, one incorrect answer is counted as correct.

kdowns, kloud1516, xRECKONERx, Framm 18 and T-Bone got it right!

xRECKONERx, T-Bone: 9

kloud1516: 8

kdowns, Framm 18 Nicholas1024 and MattP: 6

D3f3nd3r: 5

Crazy and DeathNote: 4

Now, with the +1 points to kloud1516, Crazy, kdowns, MattP, Nicholas1024 and T-Bone, the final score adds to:

T-Bone: 10

kloud1516 and xRECKONERx: 9

kdowns, Nicholas1024 and MattP: 7

Framm 18 : 6

Crazy and D3f3nd3r: 5

DeathNote: 4

PoV Challenge #2 – Fireball Mayhem

Welcome, everyone, to the backyard! As you can see, it is currently a gigantic pit of fire! In order to win PoV, you have to cross it. In order to cross it, you have to cross 5 metallic plates we’ve placed in the middle via airdrop. The 6 of you have 700 Energy Points (EP for short). You must spend the 700 points between the 5 islands in any way you want, via PM.

However, if you stay on the plates for too long, they start to melt, and I’m sure you don’t want to have your toes touch molten metal. Did I mention to you earlier you’ll be doing this barefoot? No? Oh well. But if your toes touch the molten metal plates, you jump so high that you end up back at the start. In layman’s terms, don’t spend the lowest (or tie with the lowest) on any plate.
Whoever crosses the final plate wins PoV. You have 24 hours.

---

Example game. A,B,C,D,E & F are playing. A spends 1 on the first 4, B & C spend 2 on the first 4, D spend 3, E spends 4 and F spends 5. They all spend whatever is left over on the last plate.

On plate 1, A spent 1, so A is eliminated. On plate 2, both of B & C are eliminated because they both spent 2 coins. D is eliminated on plate number 3, and E on plate number 4. F is not eliminated on plate number 5 because he is the last person left.

You have 24 hours to send submissions.

Eviction Ceremony #2

I’d like to welcome you all to your second eviction ceremony. After the votes have been read, one of you will be going home. As outgoing HoH, T-Bone, you will be voting, but we will only use your vote if we need a tiebreaker. For kdowns and D3f3nd3r, you may both not vote, but are encouraged to send in the survey. To everyone else, when you submit your vote (via PM),
please
answer the survey at the same time, and in full sentences. You have 24 hours (1 day) from this post to send in your vote.

Question #1: Did Mist7676's elimination help you or hurt you? Why?
Question #2: Are you happy with your position in this game? Why or why not?
Question #3: Did T-Bone's nominations hurt you or help you? Why?
Question #4: Who is the strongest player in the game? The weakest?
Question #5: Have you made any enemies yet? If so, who, and why?

strike you.

Hey everyone. This is just a quick note that I understand a lot of people are apparently checking this thread for the next challenge. I have referred to JDGA about potentially speeding up the challenges, because someone asked about it. Unfortunately, both of us feel like it would be best if we kept waiting for a day or so after the eviction. This both gives us more time to check things (like rule changes and challenges) and gives you all some time to do things.

Basically, the challenges will be staying as scheduled.

HoH Challenge #3 – The Ropes

I’m sure you’ve gotten to know your competition by now. Well, I hope you have, at least. You’ll need that knowledge for this challenge. Below is (yet another) survey for you all to fill out. Twice. Once with your answers, and once with what you think the majority will answer. If you get the answer correct on your second (majority answer) survey, you get to chop one of these ropes. Please submit the list of who’s ropes you will chop in order when you submit your survey. An example list is as follows:

Code: Select all

animorpherv1 #1
JDGA #1
Xalxe #1
JDGA #2
Pizzadudes7 #1
Etc. (please do not put an etc. in your list. I expect a full list, not a half list)

In order to chop someone’s #2 ropes, their #1 rope must be chopped first. Same deal for rope #3. You have 24 hours to submit. The questions (as well as a second explanation of the game, and an example) is listed here. To make it clear for those who may not understand, there is no “willpower” in this game.

OK, I just decided that that's probably not enough questions. You'll also be answering these questions as well. Also, all answers will be revealed in the same order they were asked, starting with the other page first.

Ok, these are the links you'll need, including with what is in them. This link has a much better write-up of the game, an example game, and the first set of questions, while this link has the second set of questions.

You must fill each question set out twice. Once as your personal preference, and once as to what you think the majority answer will be. You must also submit a list in order of everybody's three ropes, in the order you would like to chop them. If you get a question right, you chop the first available rope on that list. The last person left wins.

No, but wouldn't I want to match my personal answers to what I thought the majority answers were so there'd be a better chance of those choices actually
being
the majority choices?

You make a good point. Seeing as I still have no responses (shocker, right?) We'll only go with one set, that'll act as both your personal response & the majority response.

Woo, clarification time!
You will be answering the following questions with the name of a currently living player:

Code: Select all

Who is the most intelligent player?
    Who is the dumbest player?
Which player would be most likely to lie to you?
Which player would you trust with your life?
Which player is the best challenge performer?
Which player do you find the most annoying?
If you could eliminate one player right now, who would it be?
Who doesn't deserve to be here still?
Who has most surprised you in this game?
Which player would you most like to meet in person?
Which player is the weakest challenge performer?
If you could split the money with one other player, who would it be?
If you were having a party, who would you "accidentally" forget to invite?
Who is most likely to appear on the real show?
Who is the biggest threat to win the game?
Who doesn't have a prayer of winning a Jury vote?
Who is in the most alliances?
    Who is calling the shots?
    Who can't you trust?

In addition, for each of these questions you choose one of the two options the question gives you:

Code: Select all

Which do you prefer?
    Fire or Ice?
    King Boo or Bowser?
    Caution or Decisiveness
    Bonus Items or Stars?
    Teamwork or Independence?
Super Mario 64 or Super Mario Galaxy?
Which came first?
    Yoshi or the egg?

For each question, you will be attempting to answer with the majority.
In addition, each of you has three "ropes" (lives) which suspend you above the raging rapids below. Every time you get a question right (answer with the majority) you get to cut one of another player's ropes (make them lose a life). This is what the order is for: When you get a question right, the first rope in the list which remains uncut will be cut, and should a player run out of ropes they will be eliminated from the challenge and rendered unable to cut any more ropes (Although their answers will still count towards the majority). As such, you list each player three times, once for each rope. In the end, the questions and answers will be revealed in the order they are listed here, and the correct answers will be allowed to cut the first uncut rope in their list. This continues until there is only one player still in the game, who wins the challenge and becomes the game's third Head of Household.

Alright, I've got the last submission and everything worked out. Before we start, I'd like to introduce you to the cutting order. This serves 0 purpose other than to stop four people from cutting the same rope at the same time. If you are eliminated and you still have yet to cut the rope of that turn, you cut your rope and are then eliminated. Without further adue, a randomized list of everyone playing:

Just a quick mention, I apparently counted 5 results for Reck in question 3 when there were really 4. I re-did everything on the google spreadsheet that I'm working on, and it ends up with the same general results. The only real change in the whole thing is instead of Framm 18's elimination at the end of the third question, it's at the end of the fifth. At the sixth question, kloud, Nicholas and TBO all answer the question right, and Nicholas and kloud cut each other's final ropes, leaving TBO as the winner still.

TheBadOne's time has reset to now.

PoV Challenge # 3 – As Luck Would Have It

Alright, this challenge is simple. All six of you must submit (via PM) 5 numbers from 1 to 50. They must ALL be different, and at least two numbers must range from 1 to 10 or 40 to 50 (that is, you can submit 2 from 1 - 10 or 40 - 50, or you can submit one form both) . As soon as everyone has given me their PM, I will post the first number in everyone’s PM and roll a d2. If I roll a 1, whoever has the highest number gets eliminated, and if I roll a 2, whoever has the lowest number gets eliminated. In the event of a tie, both players are eliminated. This continues for 4 more rounds, or until we get a winner.

During this challenge, you may not talk to your competitors. You have 24 hours to submit a list.

Eviction Ceremony #3

Welcome, everyone, to your third eviction ceremony. Once again you will be voting to eliminate one of your fellow players from the game. TheBadOne, as the Head of Household for this round, you will not be voting. Everyone else, you are expected to submit the following survey, of which your answer to the final question will be taken as your vote.
Failure to answer the survey will be penalised.
As for CryMeARiver and xRECKONERx, you may not vote and are not required to answer the survey, however it is encouraged that you do so anyway. You have 24 hours from this post to submit your vote, which means you have (expired on 2012-07-23 04:28:00) remaining.

Question #1: Has D3f3nd3r's eviction helped your game or hurt it? Why?
Question #2: Do you approve of the path the game is taking? Why or why not?
Question #3: Are you happy with TheBadOne's nominations? Why or why not?
Question #4: Who is currently the strongest player in the game? The weakest?
Question #5: Who are you voting for, and why?

Mafiascum's Bounty Hunter

Hey there, spectators! Hey there, eliminated players! Is there someone in this game that you'd like to see gone? Well then, courtesy of
JDGA
, here's your chance to try and see them off!
It's simple. All those that are not currently in the game (this means the three eliminated players as well as any spectators) have 24 hours to PM James Bond a vote for whom they would like to be the target. In addition, you must also nominate a player to become the Bounty Hunter to do the deed. At the end of 24 hours, the votes will be tallied and the player with the most votes will become the Bounty Hunter's target, and the player with the most nominations will be offered the role of the Bounty Hunter.

The Bounty Hunter's mission is simple. He or she will have five rounds to
personally
nominate the target (this means winning a HoH), and then having them evicted. The elimination does not need to happen in the same round as their nomination, but both the nomination and eviction of the target must happen within the five round deadline, at any cost. Should they achieve this goal, the Bounty Hunter will obtain the
Golden Power Of Veto
, which can be used at any time before the Final Four to remove one player from the chopping block (including themselves), exactly like the normal Power of Veto. Sound simple? I hope it is.

The game will be put on hold until the Bounty Hunter is selected (this should be 48 hours at most), and non-players have 24 hours to send in their vote for the target and nomination to become the Bounty Hunter.
A brief reminder: Players may
not
vote, however they
are
allowed to attempt to influence those that are not in the game. Don't even think about trying to vote twice using alts or hydras, as there will be severe punishments if you try.
Good luck, everyone.

Bounty Hunter Hunter

As you’ve seen already, we’ve already brought in one twist to the game. Well, here’s a second one, courtesy of
animorpherv1!
I know there might be several of you worried about the Bounty Hunter out there, so this is, in effect, a counter-measure. All of the players have 24 hours to vote for who they want to be the Bounty Hunter Hunter, along with the action for the HoH Challenge below.

The Bounty Hunter’s mission is a bit harder than the Bounty Hunter’s. The Bounty Hunter Hunter (from here on out known as the BHH) does not know who the Bounty Hunter (from here on out knows as the BH) is. However, the BHH does not have to nominate the BH. The BHH has the same deadline as the BH, five rounds. If the BHH does manage to eliminate the BH, they win the
Golden Power Of Veto
that the BH would have won. It is also good until the Final Four starts. If the BH does his goal before the BHH does his, the BHH does not get the
Golden Power Of Veto
. Likewise, if neither the BH or the BHH do their job within the time limit, neither of them will win the
Golden Power Of Veto
.

OK, you have 24 hours. Also, no talking amongst yourselves about this vote!

HoH Challenge #4 – Ready, Aim, Fire!

This game is a classic around here. You have 3 options. Shoot the air, yourself, or someone else.

If you shoot the air, and someone shoots you, you will be eliminated from the challenge.
If you shoot yourself and no one shoots you, you will be eliminated from the challenge.
If you shoot someone else and someone shoots you, you will be eliminated from the challenge.

In every other event, you will survive. Deadlines are 24 hours a round. If we have a final 2 and they both get eliminated, they have another round. Round 1 starts now.

In order to prevent a near guaranteed win for the Bounty Hunter in this situation, all Bounty Hunter Hunter votes on the Bounty Hunter are immediately nullified, but the offending parties are not notified of such. Obviously, it still counts as a vote for the purposes of anti-strike causes, but otherwise, it is a non-vote.

HoH #4 - RAF Results - Part I!

xRECKONERx
shoots himself out of frustration and commits suicide.

T-Bone
can't handle the sight and does the exact same thing.

DeathNote
starts a kill-chain. He kills
kondi2424
, who kills
MattP
, who kills
Nicholas1024
. Nicholas decided the air was more important than anyone else.

Crazy, kloud1516, Framm 18
and
kdowns
all had fun shooting the birds.

HoH #4 - RAF Results - Part II!

Framm 18
did not send in an action and shot himself.

Crazy
also shot himself, to the same effect. Death.

DeathNote
shot
kdowns
, but kdowns shot himself, so by some weird physics-thingy, the bullet shot back at DeathNote and he died.

kloud1516
is completely irrelevant to all of this and shoots the air again.

Luxury Challenge #2 – Luxury in a Box

Everyone goes out to the backyard. 15 boxes are there, and a note. Someone reads the note.

This Luxury challenge is as simple as opening a box! Some of you might even get to open 2! In the following order, you’ll all open a box. If 24 hours pass and you haven’t chosen a box, your turn to choose is forfeited. After everyone has chosen, all boxes will be revealed in the following order:

Swap Boxes go first. Swap boxes let you swap your box for another that hasn't been chosen. You have 24 hours to post in thread what box you want to swap to, or your Swap Box becomes a Normal Box.
Normal Boxes are next. They do nothing.
Luxury Boxes are last. Luxury Boxes will give you a boost in the next challenge!

To determine the order, we will be drafting for pick order.

Clarification Time!
All you have to do is send in two integers from 1 to 10. They can both be the same if you want.
If no one else has the same first number as you, congratulations! You'll be near the top of the order. Of all the people with unique first numbers, the lowest one goes first, and so on to the highest.
If one other person had the same first number as you, congratulations! You'll be right after those with unique first numbers. If your second number is lower than the person you tied with, you'll go before them. Also, the first numbers determine the order of each pair, should there be more than one.
If two other people had the same first number as you, congratulations! You'll be after those that only tied with one other person. Same method of determing order as above.
(The pattern should be obvious now, in case there are ties of more than three people)
If your first
and
second numbers are identical to someone else's, congratulations! You'll be
last
.

I fail to see what I needed to change to make the Draft fit, when it fit already.

In post 334, T-Bone wrote:I should also be picking before kdowns, TBO before Kondi. But semantics, doesn't matter to me.

This is how the draft resolves:

1. Every first number that has not been picked by others goes first, in order of lowest to highest (1 to 10). Framm was the only one to do this.
2. Every player that has doubled their first number, but not their second number is different goes next. So where Reck and Crazy both submitted 1s, but Reck submitted (1,1) and Crazy submitted (1,9). Reck goes first because his second one is lower than Crazy's 9. orders are still resolved from lowest to highest, and seeing as kondi/TBO are the only other pair that doubled their first number but not the second, they go next. As kondi's 1 is lower than TheBadOne's 2, he goes after Crazy.
3. Next comes all tripled numbers. Following the same lowest to highest from above, DeathNote's 3 beats kdowns' 7 and your 10, so he goes after TBO. kdowns goes after DeathNote, and then you go after kdowns.
4. As Nicholas1024 and kloud1516 guessed the same numbers, they were supposed to go last. In order to break the tie, I random.org'd who would go first, and Nicholas was the lucky winner.
5. As MattP did not submit, he goes last.

PoV Challenge # 4 – Haiku

You know what, I really like poetry. For those of you that don’t, well, that sucks for you, because this next challenge is only poetry! I need you six to make a haiku and PM them to myself (read as: animorpherv1). You have 24 hours to come up with a very nice haiku, because I will then send them to JDGA anonymously (he has promised me that he won’t sign in to the hydra), for him to Judge. He can judge under every criterion he sees fit. Whoever has the best haiku wins!

Oh, for the Luxury winners, you get a special gift. You win any and all tiebreakers, unless you both (Framm & TheBadOne) both tie, in which case I'll ask him to choose 1. 24 hours to send haikus!

Submission #1 is MattP.

Submission #2 is DeathNote.

Submission #3 is Framm 18. (8.2 after the bonus)

Submission #4 is kloud1516.

Submission #5 is either kdowns or TheBadOne.

This will either win for Framm 18 if kdowns wins, or TheBadOne if TheBadOne wins. Who is it?

...

It's TheBadOne! Congratulations TheBadOne on winning Power of Veto. Your final score after the .5 addition is 8.6. You have 24 hours to decide on whether you will be using the Power of Veto or not.

Eviction Ceremony #4

Welcome, everyone, to your fourth eviction ceremony. Once again you will be voting to eliminate one of your fellow players from the game. kloud1516, as the Head of Household for this round, you will not be voting. In the event of a tie, I will get you to post in thread with your vote. Everyone else,
you are expected to submit
the following survey, of which your answer to the final question will be taken as your vote.
Failure to answer the survey will be penalised.
As for MattP and DeathNote, you may not vote and are not required to answer the survey, however it is encouraged that you do so anyway. You have 24 hours from this post to submit your vote, which means you have (expired on 2012-08-05 07:55:55) remaining.

Question #1: Has CryMeARiver's eviction helped your game or hurt it? Why?
Question #2: Did the BH and BHH twist change your game play? If so, how?
Question #3: Do you think you're in a good position in this game? Why or why not?
Question #4: Are you happy with kloud1516's nominations? Why or why not?
Question #5: Who is currently the strongest player in the game? The weakest?
Question #6: Who are you voting for, and why?

Eviction Ceremony #4 Results

By a vote of 6-0, DeathNote....

You have been eliminated from the Big Brother house. You may have one post to say your goodbyes, before you are blown into smithereens.

You guys need to remember to vote. Seriously. This is somewhat annoying. In other words, HoH tomorrow at 6:30 pm ET.

HoH Challenge # 5 – Thumbtacks

Alright, so in front of you is a gigantic corkboard. You know, the ones where you’d use thumbtacks to stick important stuff to? Well, the important thing you’re sticking in the wall is your chances at HoH.

This is how it works. There will be 5 rounds. The height of the corkboard changes every round. You have 24 hours to submit, via PM, for all five rounds (aka you submit them all at once). After all tacks have been placed, I will tally the scores for each round. If someone else places a tack where you placed one, both tacks fall off, and score 0 points. After that, any and all remaining tacks will score point equal to the height of the tack, MINUS the difference of the height of the tack beneath it.

For example, Bob, Fred, James and Greg are playing in a round of Thumbtacks. The scoreboard is 55 units high. Bob places his tack on 50. Fred places his thumbtacks at 35. James places his thumbtack at 20, and Greg places his tack at 35. Fred’s tack and Greg’s tack both fall off and earn 0 points. Bob earns 30 points (50 – 20) and James earns 20 points (20 – 0).

Round 1: The corkboard is 50 units high. The person (or people, if there is a tie) with the lowest score will be eliminated (Max of 9 still in).

Round 2: The corkboard is 70 units high. The TWO people (or more, if there is a tie) with the lowest score of those remaining will be eliminated (Max of 7 still in).

Round 3: The corkboard is 80 units high. You may trade in your tack for 11 points, if you wish to do that instead. The TWO people (or more, if there is a tie) with the lowest score of those remaining will be eliminated (Max of 5 still in).

Round 4: The corkboard is 30 units high, and all scores are tripled. You can place 1 or 2 thumbtacks, but if any tack gets stabbed, they’ll all fall off of the board. The TWO people with the lowest score of those remaining will be eliminated (Max of 3 still in).

Round 5: The corkboard is 175 units high. You may place 0, 1, 2 or 3 tacks. Any tack that gets stabbed stays on the board, but earns negative points (for that tack only). The TWO people with the lowest score of those remaining will be eliminated (Max of 1 still in).

If at any point, all contestants are eliminated, then whoever has the highest score at the end wins HoH.

The Luxury winners gain a special power; the ability to safeguard one tack from falling and negative effects! This stays true if 2 safeguarded tacks hit each other.

Deadline was a few minutes ago. One player both submitted late AND did a bad submission, so it will not be counted. Likewise, two other people either failed to submit at all or submitted for only the first round.

Results forthcoming.

Anyways, on with the show! As kondi2424, MattP and xRECKONERx failed to submit, they auto-loss the challenge. Likewise, kloud1516, as HoH, can not compete, also loses. If a player's submisison is in
Non-bolded green
Than it was safeguarded.

PoV #5 - Lucky Veto

Everyone, I am handing you 10 envelopes. You may trade the envelopes between the six of you as you see fit, as long as JDGA & I can make sense of the trade. After 24 hours, I will roll a 1d60, and whoever has the envelope marked with the number I rolled wins Power of Veto.

Framm 18: #1 - #10
MattP: #11 - #20
kondi2424: #21 - #30
kdowns: #31 - #40
T-Bone: #41 - #50
xRECKONERx: #51 - #60

As I said, 24 hours. Get trading!

Eviction Ceremony #5

Welcome, everyone, to your fourth eviction ceremony. Once again you will be voting to eliminate one of your fellow players from the game. Framm 18, as the Head of Household for this round, you will not be voting. In the event of a tie, I will get you to post in thread with your vote. Everyone else,
you are expected to submit
the following survey, of which your answer to the final question will be taken as your vote.
Failure to answer the survey will be penalised.
As for MattP and kdowns, you may not vote and are not required to answer the survey, however it is encouraged that you do so anyway. You have 24 hours from this post to submit your vote, which means you have (expired on 2012-08-11 17:44:29) remaining.

Question #1: Has DeathNote's eviction helped your game or hurt it? Why?
Question #2: Do you think you're in a good position in this game? Why or why not?
Question #3: Are you happy with Framm 18's nominations? Why or why not?
Question #4: Who is currently the strongest player in the game? The weakest?
Question #5: Who are you voting for, and why?

You have been eliminated from the Big Brother house. You may have one post to say your goodbyes, before you are blown into smithereens.

To the rest of you, welcome to the Jury Phase! If you get voted out from here until the Finale, you get to help decide our winner!
Our next challenge will take place on August 12th, at 6:30 pm ET.

Hello, ladies and gentlemen! My name is JDGA, and I will be your host for the next round! For that matter, the next challenge will take place on August 12, at 6:30pm (Australian) Eastern Standard Time.
For those of you unsure of your time zone conversions, that's in (expired on 2012-08-12 18:30:00).
This new time will be the same for this entire round, so update your alarms! (Or not)

EDIT: Just a brief reminder that there are no live challenges in Big Brother: Espionage, and certainly not in this round.

HoH Challenge #6
Majority Rules

Hello again, everyone. Do you all remember the survey that you filled out at the start of the game? If you do, then you probably saw this challenge coming. If you didn't, then here it is again to remind you:
Question 1: Leader or Follower?
Question 2: Large alliance or Small alliance?
Question 3: Is it better to win HoH or PoV?
Question 4: Be Up-Front or Float around an alliance?
Question 5: Big Brother or Survivor?
Question 6: 2nd place or last place?
Question 7: Would you rather have a free ride to the finals, or work for it?
Question 8: Responsibility or Freedom?

What you have to do is very simple. For each question, all you have to do is state which choice was picked more often. This is factoring in the choices of all fourteen of you, not just the nine still in the game.
The answers will be revealed in order, and you are eliminated as soon as you answer a question incorrectly. The last one standing wins, or if more than one person gets all eight answers correct they will undergo a tiebreak.
You have 24 hours from now to submit your responses, which means that you have (expired on 2012-08-13 18:30:00) left. Good luck, everyone!

PoV Challenge #6
Minority Rules

So, you all just learned which questions in the survey were in the majority. Now you have to guess the margins.
Here's the survey again as an additional reminder:
Question 1: Leader or
Follower
?
Question 2: Large alliance or
Small alliance
?
Question 3: Is it better to win HoH or
PoV
?
Question 4: Be
Up-Front
or Float around an alliance?
Question 5: Big Brother or
Survivor
?
Question 6:
2nd place
or last place?
Question 7: Would you rather have a free ride to the finals, or
work for it
?
Question 8: Responsibility or
Freedom
?

The majority answers are bolded. For this challenge, all you have to do is tell me how many people chose each of the
minority
options. Once all the submissions are in I will tally up how far off you were on each question and add these differences to obtain your total difference. Lowest total difference wins!

You have 24 hours, which means that you have (expired on 2012-08-16 18:30:00) left. Good luck, contestants!

Right then, everyone. One thing us mods noticed is that you collectively voted Survivor as preferable to Big Brother. So we're making the game a little more Survivor-like for you all.

Drop your buffs, we're splitting you into tribes.

If any of you happened to check the survey in the OP, you would have realised that two of the questions there we never asked in the last two challenges. That is because the result was seven-all, a tie.
Of particular note is the fact that the JDGA or animorpherv1 question was split evenly. So this is how we are dividing you into tribes.

JDGA Tribe

kloud1516
TheBadOne
T-Bone
kondi2424
DeathNote
Mist7676
MattP

animorpherv1 Tribe

Crazy
kdowns
Nicholas1024
Framm 18
xRECKONERx
D3f3nd3r
CryMeARiver

The other tied question was whether to be loyal or backstab. We have dropped a hint to indicate the answers to this, but it is of only minor importance.
For now, enjoy your tribes!
(Note: You may still communicate with members of the other tribe. This mechanic does not place any additional restrictions on anything you can do.)

Oh, and in case you were wondering what these tribes actually meant... they will provide you with an advantage in the final challenge.

Every challenge you win earns your tribe one point.
As for the luxury challenges, the tribe that produces more winners earns three points.
These points are tallied up and will be converted to an advantage in the final challenge. Look forward to it!

But for now, here are the current scores.
xRECKONERx
won HoH #1: Popularity.
kloud1516, MattP, T-Bone,
Crazy, kdowns, and Nicholas1024
won Luxury #1: Give and Take. Three winners from each tribe makes this challenge a draw.
Crazy
won PoV #1: Eyeballing.
T-Bone
won HoH #2: True or False.
TheBadOne
won PoV #2: Fireball Mayhem.
TheBadOne
won HoH #3: The Ropes.
kondi2424
won PoV #3: As Luck Would Have It.
kloud1516
won HoH #4: Ready Aim Fire.
Crazy, Framm 18, Nicholas1024,
and
TheBadOne
won Luxury #2: Luxury in a Box. 3-1 to animorpherv1 means they win a three-point bonus!
TheBadOne
won PoV #4: Haiku.
Framm 18
won HoH #5: Thumbtacks.
T-Bone
won PoV #5: Lucky Veto.
kdowns
won HoH #6: Majority Rules.
Crazy
won PoV #6: Minority Rules.

---
CURRENT SCORES

8 - animorpherv1 Tribe

7 - JDGA Tribe

Good luck everyone, and continue to earn points for your tribe!
Eviction Ceremony will be up at August 17, 6:30pm AEST.

HoH Challenge - Pickup

This challenge will test your ability to make strategic choices. In each round someone will be eliminated until only one person remains. In each round there will be predetermined amount of stones in the circle. One-by-one you will select to take 1, 2 or 3 stones from the circle. The player to take the last stone will be eliminated.

{
Example Of Play: (14 stones remain) Matt takes 3 stones. Ryan takes 2 stones. Shawna takes 2 stones. (8 stones remain) Danny takes 3 stones. Matt takes 2 stones. Ryan takes 2 stones. (1 stone remains). Shawna doesn't have a choice and must take the last stone and is therefore eliminated.

When it is your turn you MUST choose to take either 1, 2 or 3 stones. You will post how many stones you are taking from the circle
in the forum
. If you have any questions please ask. Once it is your turn, please select your stones from the circle. I am assuming you all can do math yourself and will know when someone is eliminated. Once the person ahead of you has selected their stone, then you may take your stone(s).
You do not need to wait for me to make an announcement.
Once the last person in the order has gone, the order resumes to the first person.

Spoiler: Player Order
xRECKONERx
Framm 18
Crazy
kloud1516
TheBadOne
kondi2424

We start off Round 1 with 18 rocks, and lose 1 rock every round. There is a 24 hour deadline. In the event that the deadline passes, the player takes 1 rock. In either event (either making or not making the deadline), the next player's turn starts immediately.

xRECKONERx, start us off!

Since JDGA seems to be allergic to updating titles, xRECKONERx takes the last rock and is eliminated.

New Round, Framm 18 starts. 17 rocks.

Luxury #3 - One Over Nine

Team Order

Crazy
kdowns
Nicholas1024
Framm 18
xRECKONERx

Team Chaos

kloud1516
TheBadOne
kondi2424

Alright, you may remember this challenge, some of you. Every team is given the numbers 1 - 9. Both teams will have 24 hours to talk to each other and decide how they want to send in their list from 1 to 9. You can submit (via PM) it in any order, as long as each number shows up once. If one team does not submit, their list will be randomized. After both teams have submitted or the deadline has passed, we will reveal the first number in each list. The team with the higher number wins, and the losing team gets 24 hours to re-submit their list, if they so desire. If the teams tie, all numbers both teams get their number back, and have 24 hours to resubmit.

Now, generally, high numbers beats low. The sole exception of this is that 1 beats 9, (hence the title). Everything else beats 1. So 2 beats 1, 3 beats 1 and 2, etc. Oh, and you
may not communicate with the other team.

Team QTs incoming. You have 24 hours.

PoV # 7 - Do You Really Want It?

How much do you guys give? For those of you that answered 'not very much', too bad. Today you will be giving up some BB-related items to win PoV. Thi is what you are giving:

Choice #1 - Eviction Votes (1 point each)

For each vote you give up, you'll gain 1 point. You may give up a maximum of 8 votes.

Choice #2 - HoH & PoV challenges (2 points each)

For each HoH/PoV you give up (not including HoH challenges you cannot compete in due to winning HoH), you will gain 2 points. You cannot choose which you give up. You will lose the first however many challenges you need. You may give up a maximum of 4 challenges.

Choice #3 - Jury Votes (4 points each)

For each Jury Vote you give up, you will gain 4 points. You may give up to 4 Jury Votes.

You have
24 hours to send in choices.
For our luxury winners, they will be able to choose 1 thing they gave up, and get 1 back (for example, if you have given up 2 eviction votes, and you chose that, you will only have to pay for 1 of them).

Eviction Ceremony #7

Welcome, everyone, to your fourth eviction ceremony. Once again you will be voting to eliminate one of your fellow players from the game. Nicholas1024, as the Head of Household for this round, you will not be voting. In the event of a tie, I will get you to post in thread with your vote. Everyone else (except for those of you who may not vote),
you are expected to submit
the following survey, of which your answer to the final question will be taken as your vote.
Failure to answer the survey will be penalised.
As for Crazy and kondi2424, you may not vote and are not required to answer the survey, however it is encouraged that you do so anyway. You have 24 hours from this post to submit your vote, which means you have (expired on 2012-09-02 00:34:14) remaining.

Question #1: Has T-Bone's eviction helped your game or hurt it? Why?
Question #2: Do you think you're in a good position in this game? Why or why not?
Question #3: Are you happy with Nicholas1024's nominations? Why or why not?
Question #4: Who is currently the strongest player in the game? The weakest?
Question #5: Who are you voting for, and why?

HoH #8 - Riddle Me This.

For the first part of this challenge, I need you all to submit a riddle (as well as
its
solution) via PM. Please no riddles that might have several answers due to vagueness and etc. After 24 hours, or when all riddles are submitted, whichever comes first, all riddles will be revealed anonymously. After the riddles are revealed, everyone who sent in a riddle must solve all riddles other than their own. A player will get 2 points for correctly solving a riddle, but the person who submitted the riddle will receive 1 point for every non-correct answer.

Good luck!

@Crazy: Take a look at this link. The very last one would be something that would be seriously frowned upon. Make it hard, but doable if you were to hand it to, say Cybele, JDGA or some such.

Riddle #1 wrote:In Big Brother: Espionage's interrogation cells DEATHNOTE is in cell number 5,
KDOWNS is in cell number 19,
MATTP is in cell number 16,
and KONDI is in cell number 9.
In which cell is KLOUD?

Riddle #2 wrote:I have many eyes but cannot see,

Riddle #3 wrote:I may be white, or I may be black. I will always get you there, but never bring you back. What am I?

Riddle #4 wrote:Divide this piece of ground in 4 pieces, with the following criteria:
• Each piece has a tree
• Each piece has the same shape
• Each piece has the same surface
• The 4 pieces cover the whole piece of ground
• The borders of a piece are on a drawn line

Clarification: Create a shape that will fit into the above square four times (yes you may flip/rotate) and covers the entire square. Each shape must contain exactly one of the green dots.

B = 6
C = 3
D = 8

Clarifications to Clarifications: Riddle #4 doesn't need to have each shape "start or end" on each green dot, but each shape must contain exactly one green dot.
Also, Riddle #6 is terrible and as the author of it failed to resubmit in the time I gave them, it's not included in the challenge.

HoH #8 - Riddle Me This Results!

OK, this is going to be fairly short. xRECKONERx (Riddle #3), TheBadOne (Riddle #4), and kdowns (Riddle #6) failed to submit. kdowns' points I did not add, due to his riddle being defunct.

kloud1516 (Riddle #1)

Anwer:
4. A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, etc.

Framm 18 was the only one to get it right.

kloud1516: 6
Framm 18: 1

Framm 18 (Riddle #2)

Answer:
Mississippi River

No one got it right!

Framm 18: 9
kloud1516: 6

xRECKONERx (Riddle 3)

Answer:
A hearse

Everyone got it right, minus TBO, of course.

Framm 18: 10
kloud1617: 7
xRECKONERx: 2
Crazy: 1

TheBadOne (Riddle #4)

Answer: http://i46.tinypic.com/30xhk6e.gif

Every one got it wrong!

Framm 18: 10
TheBadOne: 8
kloud1617: 7
xRECKONERx: 2
Crazy: 1

Crazy (Riddle #5)

Answer:
Each letter's value is based on their placement in the alphabet (A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, etc.) multiplied by the number of strokes it takes to physically write that letter. In the case of letters like I or G, we were instructed that both answers were correct. This is a very odd case where both answers would be correct, because it would have come down to mod interpretation of whether I and G were 2 or 3 strokes otherwise.

Framm 18: 10
Crazy: 9
TheBadOne: 8
kloud1617: 7
xRECKONERx: 2

HoH #8 - The Vault

Alright, the 6 of you are playing for Power of Veto. However, it's in JDGA's safe. Apparently he doesn't want anyone winning Power of Veto. What you have to do is be the first one to go for the safe
alone
. If two or more people go for the safe at the same time, they butt heads and KO each other. You will be playing all 15 rounds at once, so please PM me with the number of the round you will be running for the safe at.

Example:

Cybele, Blackberry, and Xalxe are all playing. Cybele and Blackberry both go for round 2, and Xalxe goes for round 4. Xalxe wins, because Cybele and BB knocked each other
up
out.

You have 24 hours.
