RULES:

General:

1)
I am MOD. There is no greater authority than I. I reserve the right to alter these rules if I deem it necessary, including retroactively enforcing new/altered rules. You also have my promise that I will not do so unless it really is necessary.
2)
Do not talk about this game outside of the thread (or your QT, if you have one) in any way, shape, or form.
3)
Do not quote any mod communications originating outside the game thread. You may paraphrase, but be cautious when doing so.
4)
If you are modkilled, you automatically become a Neutral Survivor, and lose the game.
5)
If I screw up, let me know. Post in thread (
@Mod: I voted for Nader, not Bush
) or PM me.
6)
Please try to avoid using
bold
unless you are voting or communicating with me.
7)
Purple is my color. Do not use it.

8)
All roles have been given out by Random.org.

Voting/Lynching:

1)
Voting will be done either using the VOTE: tag, or in this format:
vote: Nixon
.
2)
There will be no voting trickery. If something is clearly intended to be a vote for a specific player, I will treat it as such.
3)
A lynch will occur when half-plus-one of living players are voting for the same player. As soon as the hammer vote is cast, the game will enter Twilight.
4)
All living players (including the lynchee) may talk in Twilight, but any voting/unvoting will not count. Twilight will last until I post the final vote count / scene.
5)
Roles will be revealed at death.
6)
Once dead, you are allowed a single ‘bah’ post at the beginning of the next Day Phase.
7)
If there is no majority at deadline, the player with the most votes will be lynched. In the case of a tie, the player who has been at that number of votes the longest will be lynched.

Deadlines:

1)
Day phases will have a deadline of 10 days from the daybreak scene.
2)
Day phases are extendable in the case of excessive/badly timed replacements and other extenuating circumstances.
3)
Prods will be given if a player has not posted in 48 hours.
4)
A player must respond, in-thread, to a prod within 48 hours, or they will be replaced. If the 48 hours runs into Night Phase, they must PM me within the same time frame.

Don’t Be Stupid:

1)
Don’t use hidden or encrypted text. You may use small text, unless it is hiding game-related or important information.
2)
Play to your win condition.
3)
Don’t attack your fellow players. It’s just a game.
4)
Understand that life throws curveballs sometimes, and players will have to go V/LA. I can certainly relate. Please do not accuse players of using V/LA unfairly.
5)
By the same token, please don’t use V/LA unfairly. If something comes up, that’s fine, but don’t ruin the game for others. Request replacement if you need to.
6)
Have fun. No, really. Have fun.

Well, it wasn't a reaction test but since you seem to be on the lookout for them and are too worried about what I think, I find you awfully suspicious. Vote is no longer random.

So quick to retract it? I don't see a town motivation for doing that. However, scum would attempt to buddy and when it doesn't work, quickly retract their "pass mark" or whatever and try to buddy someone else. Scum read on Hoopla going even stronger now.

Side-note: random voting (or early voting in general) is typically suboptimal in this setup, as scum quickhammering D1 and taking the vengekill is a highly beneficial play for them. It means you go into D2 with little information, which creates, effectively, a 1/3 chance for town to win if the outcome of lylo is random.

I've actually read a handful of your games and I think I have a pretty good idea of what to look for in you - I'm letting you reveal your alignment to me.

I look at it as the town having two "lives" like in a video game. Mislynching loses a life. Mis-vengekilling loses a life. If town uses up two lives they lose.

PEdit: which games have you read?

I think you're misunderstanding. By enabling quicklynch possibilities (like there is now) it means we sacrifice any possible autowin scenarios by lynching the GF today. It also means, we have shitty odds in a 3P lylo - town don't win 3P lylos 50%+. Ergo, quickhammering as scum is beneficial for scum. A quickhammer today isn't using a "life" - town will have had little choice in it, and then the second life has about 33%. It's silly.

And, I'll tell you later.

Nope. I wanted to see how he reacted to my vote. But his reaction didn't give me much. I would've probably kept my vote on for the hell of it, but you explained why random/early voting is bad, so I'd rather not have a vote there now.

Hey all.

I was going to bring up early voting sounding like a bad idea but Hoopla beat me to it. Only he had pretty numbers to back it up.

I think there's one important thing that we should know now:
@mod: Do the scum team get daychat in this setup?

So nobody's going to be persuading buddies to stop doing stupid things... should make this somewhat easier.
