Nominate Katsuki for Don Corelone
.

I don't know
what
it is that makes Katsuki so damn good as scum, but between Anything Goes and Death Note, clearly, Kats is doing SOMETHING right, and is a competent scum manipulator.
2nd Katsuki

having been scum with him a few times, I can honestly say he deserves this nomination

Nominate penguin_alien for Don Corelone. She's not exactly a high-key mafia player, but damn, she's good at it. She has an excellent head when it comes to nightkills and running the math for night actions in general, and while her play is more 'reserved' than the average player, she's quite competent at reading situations and manipulating them to her favor. Though most strongly shown in Maniacal Street Mafia, it is present in her other scum games as well; she's a highly-underestimated scum player.

Thread updated, if I missed something blame someone else.

Look at the best setup and best role scummies! They've almost zero noms. Surely there's a setup out there you've played this year and thought "huh, this was neat". be it a normal game with a twist, a cool theme game - or whatever. Surely there's some nice roles you've seen that you think the mod should get recognition for?

I'm also sure there are more than 2 people worthy of being nominated for excellent moderation.

tl;dr some categories are undernominated - don't be afraid to nominate things

mk. I've got one that definitely deserves it.

Nominate AngryPigeon's Sabotage Mafia for Best Setup

The town each had multiple 1-shot abilities, and the scum had the ability to "sabotage" them (block the ability). In addition to this, the scum had other 1-shot abilities they could use during the day and night, as well as a list of the remaining town abilities. Beyond the usual scumhunting/townhunting, this setup required both town and scum to use their abilities as advantageously as possible, and to challenge traditional tells (like a scum kill always belonging to a town player ;) ). There were some very interesting claims and working out how to organize reads was definitely a puzzle. Despite being power-heavy, the setup was expertly balanced, imo. It was unlike any other setup I've ever played.
Art is cool.

Nominate Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for
Best Setup.

*Tied into the flavour of the source material well - it was well adapted so that it didn't lose the spirit of it but also wasn't "obvious".
*Basilisk kill mechanic was pretty cool - sort of similar to 1) but it's probably worth mentioning as there were a bunch of little "this is neat" things once you're familiar with HP
*Pretty damn well balanced too, I'd say.

It wasn't some super complex game, but it went against expectations enough that the players playing it never felt cheated by the setup - but instead good play was rewarded.

^ Seconded. It made for a great Nacho-scum fakeclaim and an all around good game.

Nominating Nachomamma8
for
Most Cunning Manipulator

Nacho's a strong player, but I really didn't expect the play that I saw in . Nacho went from lurking the game out in a setting where his team had a decent chance of winning to pulling an absurd gambit that confirmed him in town's eyes. He then proceeded to bus all of his team to oblivion, all while killing people who would ever doubt that he was town. Nacho deserves this reward not just for manipulating town, but also for manipulating his own team into going along with such an insane gambit. They had the win in the bag, and Nacho was on the precipice of being lynched when they sprung the gambit into action. It's been weeks since that game, but I still remember it strongly, and I'll carry it as reminder of the cunning that Nacho is capable of.

The fakehammer plan was ooba's though (as far as the qt says)? (And Nacho was getting lynched without it or at L-1 as you said which hardly amounts to "they had the win in the bag")

edit: not that I object to the nomination, I just think your write up is misleading

I'd like to nominate time traveler from Paradox Prime for best role.

The role was a one-shot that could warp to any time past or future; essentially bringing back the dead to chat for a day.

Nth Penguin
Nth Nacho
Nth Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

All well deserved nominations. I'll add that Nexus's quotes from the HP book were some intense nostalgic moments from a decade ago.

Nominate zMuffinman for Most Enjoyable Player
he's a pretty funny guy: http://www.quicktopic.com/50/H/Y32YtvQMfpPz/p600.1 alone is worthy imo

Let's face it, he's not going to win a scummie for being good at the game either!

Nominate
Magua for Smooth Operator
. He has proven himself to be a top notch game designer, reviewer, and moderator. He has run complicated games, large games, and everything in between. Looking at the success of his like the Arkham series Arkham 2 and the Marketplace series Marketplace 3. You can see that players are attracted to his games because Magua is one of few mods who can competently and professionally run complex games.

Nominate the town of Fire Emblem Awakening Mafia for Best Town

The fact we lynched 4 scum consecutively, utilized the mechanic to bolster the towns numbers and deny the scum additional members(only one non town player got married!) Gave the town enough time to POE down the final two members of the scumteam.

3rd Magua for Smooth Operator

Just read this QT for Marketplace Mafia, and you'll want to give him a hug. (I hope this is better than a cake!) He was incredibly prompt and on the ball with processing actions and answering questions in a game with incredibly complex mechanics and role interactions.

Well deserved and I thought Magua did a very good job of running a very complex setup.
