Fake claiming as town might often be anti-town, but it's entertaining. We should be playing this game for fun, with winning next priority. It makes the game interesting.

For the player doing the fakeclaim, yes.

For the rest of the town, no.

If your fun comes at the detriment of the fun for the rest of the town, you're doing it wrong.


And UN, I'm not an easy mislynch most of the time. It's when I'm apathetic that I can be mislynched, because my interest in the game was zilch. The hydra wasn't activated, which created a loss of interest. And the constant spam-posting was a put-down. I can handle five pages a RL-day, but ten or even twenty? Nope.

And guess what?

That was the posting rate this game had.

The signal to noise ratio was off the charts. And despite my reputation...I just can't deal with that as a player. It

my spirit if I've become lost, confused, and unable to properly determine scum-motivated play from just anti-town playstyles. This game did prove once more, though, that I shoulda trusted Nero. I realized by sometime mid-D3 (or was it D5? Well before the end, at least) that UN was pretty much certainly scum and that Nero was right there, but I didn't even care to mention that.

By the way, I never got a link to a dead QT. I'm not sure if Nero did, either.

the lack of town cohesion was disturbing. I think many players tried but I am used to a different dynamic; town finds each other and then tries to lynch together. I think some of us were trying to do that but it got buried and it left town having to read x amount of pages in which their eyes probably blurred after a while. burying is a highly effective tactic for scum; it appeals to apathetic town who are playing multiple games. and the timing...not everyone is married to their computer or phone.

because

of the signal to noise ratio. they generated enough noise that confused town, cos of the different approaches to scum play; scum usually lurk cos whatever they post they feel might be perceived as scummy but when you are dealing with confident scum it is a totally different ballgame. head before the ass is what I always say but sometimes it is hard to determine who the head is and I think that is where town kept stumbling.

I had no way of knowing that, though.

Most of the time, when you get that high of a post-rate, policy-lynching the players who're the worst offenders will just land you town lynch after town lynch.
