for clarification, mafia can commit suicide. they can choose to of one of their own members. rarely seen done but it seems to me it could be a useful gambit to get the town thinking a vig or sk...

There was one game where I would have committed suicide if allowed, because I was outed scum and the idea would have been to disrupt the town from trying to coordinate their night actions for better confirmation.

Oh also, I met this girl that went to UK over the weekend and talked about how you guys needed a new abreviation and your cheerleading team. She thought it was weird that I know you guys have a good cheerleading team. I don't think it is. Do you?

Nothing could be revealed in death at all though. Some games don't anyway so it isn't that much of a problem. It could work as scum could just confirm each other as Masons and let one of them suicide, or just nightkill them.

Been there, done that (Russian mafia at the GL), to support my claim as one-shot vig. Did not help, because I was overpowered by the town (masons and an unlynchable, unkillable ghost).

That doesn't mean it couldn't work, it just sounded like you were against an overwhelmingly powerful town, though I don't know the game specifics. Besides, when worse comes to worst, you always lynch the claimed viligantes first, as it's one of the easiest roles for the mafia to "prove."

I don't see a problem with mafia members being allowed to suicide. Town people being allowed to suicide can be a problem, however.

Suicide was originally a great invention is the live action version because you could make other people shut up by suiciding. So if the Angel (cop) was about to spill the beans, you could always suicide as a mafioso and then have him killed that night. The online version doesn't allow for such things, unfortunately, and I think the utility of the suicide is diminished.

Once in a game of Mafia I was the godfather with one goon left. Fingers were being pointed at me and I was clearly going to be lynched the following day. The cop had already roleclaimed and pointed the finger at my last henchman. He had a one-shot recruitment thing going and he recruited the cop. I panicked and knew I was going to be lynched so I tryed one last desperate move. I PM'ed the Mod and asked that I would be sent to kill my last mafia member. With the first post of the next day I immediatly pointed to the mafia death and claimed I was a magician and had used my powers to scramble the night actions. The cop who now had been recruited backed me up and said he had investigated someone else at random. Amazingly alot of people believed me and I was not lynched until a few days later when a Mason group appeared and started to lynch everyone else.
