Task 6

Cross Country

Today we'll be moving to a brand new location. The trick is that you must get yourselves there. Here is how this Task works.

First, you will be given a picture of the location you must travel to. The first part of this Task requires you to work together to figure out what this location is. You may use any resource, with one exception:

you may not reverse image search the image using Google or any other search engine

. Don't do that.

Once you've figured out where to go, the real fun begins: you have to get yourselves there. You must send me a PM containing exact instructions on how to get there from the Hotel Imperial in Vienna. You may use any mode of transport you like.

The PM to me must contain exact instructions on how to use each method of transport you have chosen. For example, if you are going to drive, you must include a screenshot of the directions; if you're going to take a taxi, screenshot the taxi website and then include the directions the driver will take; if you're taking a train, screenshot the timetable and cost, etc. The other thing to be considered is time: assume that Vienna time and Eastern time are equal, so if a train is leaving from Vienna at 6pm, just pretend it's 6 eastern. When you send the PM matters as well; this challenge occurs in real time, so if you send me a plan at 7pm that says you're taking a flight that leaves at 6pm, you're gonna have a bad time.

For each team that arrives within

12 hours

of their initial PM, the group will win $500. However, any money spent by your group will be subtracted from this amount, so it is possible, by spending enough, to actually lose money. Not that anybody would want to do that. In addition, the final team to arrive at the location, regardless of when they arrive, will be given an opportunity for a reward.

You will receive the location you must travel to in 10 minutes. If you have questions about this Task, PM me.

In order of arrival:

Reck and Mist

drove to Munich, spending a whopping $1,095 to do so. They arrived at 1:59 am.

Jeremy and Jason

caught a ride to Munich, spending a mere $40 to do so. They arrived at 4:04am.

Ryan and Lexi

used two taxis and a bus to get to the Hofbrauhaus, spending $153 to do so. They arrived at 5:13am.

Ben and Sleepy

had no idea where to go and only made it to Germany after production took pity on them and drove them there.

Overall, of a possible $2000, you earned $1500. However, with deductions, you only add $212 to the pot. I'll be nice and round that up to $300 for you today, bringing the current Pot to $15,500.

More information on the next Task will come later, I have to rearrange some things to make scheduling work properly.
