So, I'm sure everyone wants my reasons for why exactly I quit. The reasoning is a long one, so I'm going to shorten it a bit:

1) MULTIPLE BULLSHIT EQUALIZERS.

I'm pretty sure everything from leg 2 onwards had SOMETHING the playerbase hasn't agreed with - this game has been poorly designed and obviously thrown together at the last minute and not cared about/looked over by someone not playing. Really, the 30 minute thing in a pretty big equalizer in and of itself - we don't need any more.

2) Leg 4 in particular.

Leg 4's the biggest piece of bullshit I can think of - and I know a few other teams (at least) agree. Because of the trains, I end up getting the U-turn instead of everyone else (whoever xof felt like U-turning) - forcing me to spend extra money and time. And you guys didn't wanna have someone else do the detour because it changes everything? Um, no. The detour was particularly easy and could've been finished within 10 minutes. On top of that, me getting U-turned was pretty much a perfect storm of forgetfulness that I refuse to believe.

3) Whatever the fucking Charlemagne thing was on about.

Because nowhere in the clue did it mention that I was looking for a statue - it said, and I quite DIRECTLY from the clue:
CC wrote:locate Charlemagne
So, I'm supposed to look for some dude, OK? Seems simple enough. NOPE, YOU'RE ACTUALLY LOOKING FOR A STATUE THAT WAS NEVER INDICATED AT ALL AND YOU HAD NO IDEA EVER EXISTED.

Bullshit - I wasn't aware it was a statue until
after
I had quit - at which point that just confirmed me quitting.

That was the straw the broke the camel's back. Don't care about this game at all anymore.

Oh, you better clean up your act quickly, because I'm apparently NOT the only one who's felt like quitting multiple times.

Of course, I'm not giving any names.

CC and I have been working on this game since the first PM I sent him on November 4th, so I don't believe that it's "thrown together at the last minute." No, we didn't have anybody review the game because I trust our judgement and at no point did anybody say "hey, you guys suck at this, mind having someone review it?"

And if the playerbase is disagreeing, I'm not hearing it. If we ARE doing things the players disagree with, please speak up. I feel like we didn't emphasize enough that this is the
first time
this format of a game has been run on the site, so I don't EXPECT it to be perfect. We're adapting as we go. The trains last leg? Not gonna happen again because we know they didn't work!

1) again, not hearing "biggest piece of bullshit" from anybody but you - again, players, feel free to tell us "hey, this sucked!"
2) not sure what you're on about with the detour, I'll let CC take that as I wasn't around for that due to my illness
3) Sorry you're mad that JDGA U-Turned you.

I'm sorry that you struggled with something in the race. There were others that did as well - I know Jal and KA took a bit of time to puzzle it out, but they all got it by simple means. Hell, google "Charlemagne Wurzburg" and if you don't find the answers in there, let me know.

ani, if you have further issues with the game in any way, I welcome your private messages, I'm more than willing to talk this through with you. As for the rest of the players, if you have issues with the game and express them in a civil and cordial manner I believe CC and I are more than willing to listen and respond fairly. Don't be afraid to PM me.

Departure times will be up by tomorrow morning, along with moderator assignments.

We already had this discussion:
Me on facebook wrote:That's basically why I don't want to give time credits, as stupid as the train was, it wasn't designed to benefit or hurt any specific teams, and it was designed before teams were even selected for the race; also it'd be basically rewriting the whole leg, and nullifying the existence of the U-Turn altogether, unless I give xof 1st and let her choose a team to basically handicap their money and time, and this is after final results are already known.

Basically it would create way too many "What If"s for this to be enjoyable for anyone :/

Congratulations, you pissed off a player! Maybe your challenge decision was unfair in their eyes. Maybe they got fucked over by a twist, or maybe their ally was eliminated because of a surprise elimination. Whatever the situation, they're pissed, and they're pissed at you. This is serious business. Do not respond with the following:
  • Snark

    Catty comments

    Accusations
    Rudeness

    "Shut up, it's the game"
"Obviously you aren't very good at this then"
    Ignoring the issue entirely
Contact the offended party via PM. Invite them to chat calmly with you, via AIM, Skype, PM or in a QuickTopic. Allow them to explain their issue, and then calmly explain why you ruled the way you did. Answer all questions as fully as possible without revealing information they shouldn't have. If necessary, contact a neutral third-party and ask them to offer their opinion. Do everything you can to appease the player, while at the same time understanding that it is what happened and it won't change.
Look out, the mish mash police is here :cop:
