Mafia 17: The Old Pond - Game over!

-- Basho

The old pond--
a frog jumps in,
sound of water.

A beautiful Japanese setting for this classic 'no cop' mafia game.

THE STORY

A Pond in XVIth Century's Japan. Many Japanese frogs (female) live a merry life by the Pond.

Alas. A group of Japanese stones, strongly influenced by Zen philosophy, have decided to change the lively Pond into a silent landscape, a stone garden where monks could meditate. To achieve their goals, they have started killing one living creature every night. They just... stone them.

In addition, a Japanese crane (tsuru), has recently discovered this haven for the frogs. The crane goes looking for food at night - but will not eat stones.

From time to time, an ancient male frog (kaeru) comes to the Pond to visit his old female friends and copulate. As his eyes are extremely bad, he cannot distinguish between a stone and a frog. So he will mount his target for the night and try to copulate, without knowing, in the morning, whether or not he achieved his goals. In effect, he protects his 'partner' for the night. The male kaeru cannot mount the tsuru... perverts.

To react to the threats posed by the stones and the crane, the frogs have decided to lynch someone every day. They will jump furiously on their target, then push it into the pond.
The sound of the water shall inform them whether their victim was indeed a troublemaker, or yet another innocent frog...

In this game, the Townies are the female frogs.
Their role is the following: (hey scums, that's for you):
You are a Japanese frog (female).

You win with the Town.

Leo

Day 1

(Enter a couple of Geishas. Perform Tea Ceremony for the players).

(Moment of pure bliss).

(Exeunt).

The first rays of the Rising Sun land timidly on the Japanese hills around Kyoto. They then eagerly move to the temples and the white castles, caressing here the colourful kimono of a woman on her morning walk, there the hand of Toyotomi Hideyoshi as he savors his first tea of the day. After the long agony of the night, Japan and its beauties are theirs to conquer - again.

But for some rays, the morning job is less pleasurable. Instead of shrines, golden chopsticks, and sharp katanas (oh, to land on a katana's blade, what a priviledge for a sunray !), a few, lost rays land on the viscid bodies of two dead frogs by an Old Pond...

One, it seems, has been pecked to death.

The body of the other has been crushed by multiple blows. The stomach is flat and elongated. On a nearby tree, the rays discover a mysterious, carved inscription:

If I were Haiku
I'd be long in my middle
Shorter in my End

Finally, the rays illuminate the Old Pond, as a multitude of Japanese frogs discover the bodies, push them quietly into the water, and then start jumping on each other angrily.

Thoth
- Japanese frog (female) -
stoned to death
.
Stewie
- Japanese frog (female) -
pecked to death
.

With 16 alive, it takes 9 to throw into the Pond. Vote away !
