I see your points about the Atticus claim. I guess it seems more effective when you're one of the players that got burnt by it.

In regards to vollkan, I think he's been playing at a high level longer than his total duration here. And seeing as the scummies are once per calendar year, it seems silly to penalize him based on the fact that he didn't join at the right time.

Best newbie is the award for the best new player to the site. IMO, it should be based on performance

as a newbie

- so someone who played terribly in their first ten games but has played a hundred in a year and ended up awesome doesn't qualify for Best Newbie, but someone who played well as a noob and has since become an upstanding member of the community should still be eligible if they started in that Scummie year.

That's all IMO, of course.

I've started the process of getting judges and so forth. I'm going to try to go through this thread and put together nominations in a coherent form in the next couple days, at which point I will set a deadline for nominations. Oscar night is Feb. 24th, so we do have a bit of time still.
