In post 4621, mathcam wrote:Boo: Grrrr. :) But damn, end of day 1 was well-played. Any time I really though you were 100% absolute scum, I went back and read day 1, and I couldn't see you and LML both scum. Really nice.

Grrr :) you were my nemesis, mathcam! OMG!

I will admit that I only went hunting for the role-block breadcrumb after LML was lynched. I figured it was the only way to save my sorry hide after trying to save him all day one. :p It was just lucky that I was able to find something to work with.

I was very shocked that it worked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Thanks, Patrick. Sorry Yos. Sorry, STD and Lee.

It was great to see you all again.

Talk it out = another month of discussion followed by a mislynch.

MBL, please, stop posturing, you called me scum and called the scum team meh. scum > meh.

MBL: Yeah, I deleted my paragraph of not-so-nice comments (about whom shall have to remain a secret! :)) In any case, nice seeing you again, MBL. As you know, I had you as pretty solid town up til the very end.

ABR: Ah. chamber's venomous rant at MBL for not claiming convinced me he wasn't the vig, and I didn't think he would have vigged UT.

No. Way. Then doubly well done. I think that one post instantaneously shifted like 5 people's opinions of you from almost defscum to obvtown. (Or whatever the right words there are). Someone give this lady a scummy.

My attitude is my attitude, I don't inflate it for the game as town (and can think of very few examples where I've done so as scum). You calling porochaz out is ridiculous when you started it.

I actually loved getting to play with all of you. I expressed some in-game vitriol at PJ, but that was because he was actually threatening to me and my scumbuddies. There isn't one of you I don't respect and admire, and I think you're all better players than I am.

I feel lucky to have been included in this game.

Heh, and I thought OMGUS was a technique to identify scum, not town.

Day 5 or so, I was intentionally oversuspecting you but still trusting all the townies who were so sure you were town. By the end though, I definitely would have considered voting you, but would have deferred to the players who know you better. I think Poro was the way better lynch today though.

I tried a new approach this game.. making cases but letting the rest of town tell me whether they were any good or not. chamber's early recognition of a case as a good reason to vote STD was my main reason for finding him town most of the game.

Just in case it wasn't clear, my comment there was not a criticism. I thought you made some very good cases this game, mostly convincing me that various people were town.

Yeah anyway...

I actually really enjoyed playing with all of you. I'm sorry I wasn't able to be around for some of the game, which made it difficult to catch up. Trust me to suggest an Oldy sequel when my life goes tits up. In any case I hope I didn't frustrate to many, in the end I did use my lurking to my advantage, especially during the STD lynch day. However it was a product of circumstance, and it's not something Im particularly proud of.

I am however really glad I got to play with some cool folks that I didn't think I would ever get to. Was glad we never really discussed trying to take down MBL and when I took on the ABR case I was able to turn away from the mathcam suspicion.

I want to thank my scumbuddies as well, particularly the ones who actually hung around for a length of time. You will see in the scum QT (if you fancy reading another 24 pages!) that we did become quite close, which I attribute to the Encryptor and I was genuinely gutted when StD was lynched. (I think we all were!) Going against Bookie was tough going as well. However I am glad we won, maybe our play didn't warrant it but not to win would have let all of the guys down. So I'm grateful and utterly astonished (again see the QT) that you repeatedly didn't lynch me. It is still something I'm wondering about. Especially after the initial ABR vote...

You guys, Bookie, STD, Revolving Door Scum, LML, you were great!
Mostly retired. Unless you ask or it's something interesting.

Since people were talking about the setup and Patrick won't be back for a while, I will note this:

The vanilla cop wasn't a rolecop, exactly. It did differentiate between goons and vanilla townies, but it got the same "not vanilla" result on power roles and mafia alike. I'm not convinced that it should have been cut down to a three-shot role, but there you go.

Also, on Day 1, I thought the Hickory Dickory Dock thing was LML's way of kicking up some encryptor WIFOM. I didn't realize he was claiming until other people started talking about it.

PS. Congrats to the scum!
