Please keep in mind this is largely experimental, and it may end up being wildly unbalanced. If that occurs, I apologize.
At the start of the game, I will give people role pms(stating just their alignment) and ask for draft numbers. There will be 7 aligned with Good (town) and 2 aligned with Evil (scum). Once all numbers are recieved, players draft from the following classes:
Fighter
Intimidate
- 1 per day - Forces all enemies attacking a specified target to attack himself (the fighter) instead of the target.
1-4 damage
20 health
Ranger
Double Shot
- 1 per day - When used, has two attacks that round.
1-6 damage
16 health
Rogue
Critical Strike
- 1 per day - Deals double damage for one attack.
1-8 damage
10 health
Cleric
Heal
- 1 per day - heals someone for 1d8 health
1-3 damage
12 health
Wizard
Fireball
- 1 per day - 1d10 damage to 2 targets
Magic Missile
- 2 per fight - 1d4 damage to 2 targets
1 damage
8 health
Players may select a class that has already been selected. Theoretically, the entire party could be composed of a bunch of one class. (I don't recommend it)
Once everyone has selected their class, the game begins.
Battle
At the start of each day, a fight will occur. The enemies in this fight will be secretly controlled by evil. Players always have the first moves.
Turns will generally look like one of the following:
"Attack Kobold Warrior 1 (Kobold Cleric 1, KW2, KW3, KW4).
Original Roll String: 1d4 (STATIC)
1 4-Sided Dice: (3) = 3
"
"Use Fireball on Kobold Warrior 13 and Kobold Warrior 1 (KW7, KW2)"
Original Roll String: 1d10 (STATIC)
1 10-Sided Dice: (4) = 4
"
First, state what you are doing. Each class can use either their special ability (if available) or use their basic attack.
Then, state your target(s). The monsters in parentheses are the monsters you will attack if your original target(s) die(s).
Players actions will be resolved in order of submission.
After stating action and target, roll the dice.
After the players complete their turn, the monsters will go. The evil players will have to have already submitted to me what the monsters are doing by this point. Results of the monster's turn will be posted, then players go again. This continues until all of one side are dead.
After Winning A Battle
After winning a battle, someone must recieve experience! All players will vote on one player to recieve +4 health, +2 damage, and a bonus usage of
any
special ability. (The exception being fireball. One must have two in magic missile in order to obtain a bonus usage of fireball.)
Solving The Real Issue
Once the player has been decided and recieved the bonuses, the day now continues until a single player dies. Once this player dies, the day ends.
This phase of the game is another combat phase. All player actions resolve instantaneously. (AKA, if 8 players deal 100 damage to the last player, the last player can still do his attack for 2 damage.) Every player must state what they are doing each round of combat, even if it is nothing.
After a player dies, everyone is healed to full health and the next day begins.
Deadlines and such will be made more clear once the game begins.
