Please critique my new role: Cannibal

So for a pro-town aligned cannibal, isn't the correct play always going to be to get yourself killed as quickly as possible so the town gets death information?

Agreed. I think it would make an interesting SK role: he town only finds out the alignment of those killed by the Cannibal SK if/when he dies.

If the cannibal knows the dead people's roles and he is protown, he can tell people, if he is scum he can lie about it. Because the cannibal is millerish, a counter-claim can't be confirmed/denied by a cop, only by killing one of the claimed people. Unless the mafia has a roleblocker, in which case they can roleblock the cannibal and lie to the town.

Here's a tweak I thought up (I actually watched Silence of the Lambs a couple days ago, so it fits)

When the cannibal (preferably a Serial Killer) is killed, the allignments of specific players aren't revealed per-se, but you are told how many of each allignment make up his skinsuit. (1 Mafia, 4 Town, etc)

i dont see how you can have a role with a town win condition, yet a bad ability for town. Possibly it could be a variant of an SK, that the roles of players the SK kills are not revealed, but the SK retains the neutral alignment?

The Cannibal should know the alignment of those killed (after all, he's going through their pockets as he strips them for cooking), thus not being a -total- anti-town role (he can function as a cop-of-the-dead in a way), with that info being made public when he's killed. It also lets him imitate being a cop, possibly to throw the scum off the trail of the real cop... although there's only so many times you can investigate someone who was killed the same night and have it be sheer coincidence.

I really like your take on the Cannibal role.

On-topic: In my original view of the role, the Cannibal would get the normal results: after all, he does get to see the bodies. So he'd be the only player in the entire town who'd know the alignments and roles of the dead.

In fact, I've used a similar role in the past in one of my games. The role changed people, hiding their roles (not alignments) upon death. The real roles would be sent to the guy.

It's an interesting effect, as it gives the town some knowledge of the game state the Mafia don't have.

I wanted to say "Necrophiliac", too, but other words of the sort tend to end in "-phile" (e.g. Audiophile), so I was going for consistency.
