Why would you want a pokemon with low ivs, though?

If the pokemon is a special-only attacker, the lower your ATK IV is, the better:

- less damage taken from Foul Play
- less damage dealt to self in confusion
- less Attack stat given to opponent against Power Split
- etc.

It took me half a day to catch castform.

Played two hours. Saved to visit the Festival Plaza for the first time. Exited out of Festival Plaza to get Internet connection correct. Lost all progress.

But now I'm back! The game is so much fun thus far. It's such a completely different feel--I love the new battle "types", the lack of HMs is phenomenal, and the more open-world exploration makes things super enjoyable.

One weird quirk--I feel as though there are a lot fewer towns? Or at least it plays that way so far. I've definitely had my party healed outside of a Pokemon Center a whole lot more than I've healed in a PC.

I like a lot about this game but this feature makes me want to kill people

On the other hand, that feature is useful for EV training. By doubling the EVs gained and allowing the same Pokémon to be fought over and over rather than having to hope they appear in the random generation is an amazingly convenient feature.

Also it's incredibly fun in the Totem battles because of the cooperation tactics the Totem's helpers use which make the battles so much better.

However I will agree it can be a bit of a pain when trying to catch a Pokémon, but hey it adds a bit of variety

It's fine in totems when the point is the interesting battle, but I don't give even a little bit of a shit about EV training, so being double-teamed is just incredibly annoying.

If you are trying to catch Pokemon you should have a way to give a status effect anyway, which shuts down SOS.

My breeding game is on point right now. Perfect IV Rhyhorn, Beldum, and Salandit in one day. (Sadly, I am going for a 0 ATK Salandit. I did get one with 30/0/31/31/31/31 but it's male.)

Tapu Fini is currently popular as hell so it's time to put aside my rain team until the fad dies like Torkpal + Liligant. The issue with Tapu Fini + Kartana + Intimidate User (Usually Arcanine) is that it is really hard to break. Arcanine and Fini both have a nasty habit of walling everything.

Tl;Dr I'm slightly annoyed I lost me 1700 Showdown rating in VGC because my team really can't deal with every other team being a variant of the above.

How are people building Tapu Fini? I've actually held off on capturing it because I can't decide what I'd like to o with it.

As off now it's either specs as a bulky offensive wall mutant, else it's leftovers CM (usually with Sub) or sitrus with some array of support moves.
