Dr. Seuss Mafia- Game Over

Dr. Seuss Mafia

Current State: Day 5

Important notes

...

Older notes

----------------------
Some of the added sound bites are just me showing off my daughter and have no bearing on the game. (ex. I changed the opening story because I had to show off my daughter telling ME the story. :)

As promised (to those who read this first post) here is me reading the entire text of Dr. Seuss' ABC to my daughter. This contains MORE than just the text, but you should be able to pick it out. There is one skip because I hit the limit for the one session recording, but it is not part of the story, just me counting doughnuts. (This is 8MB so you should probably download it instead of simply playing it from here. Also it's recorded a little loud, so make sure you know where your volume control is.)

When a fox is in the bottle where the tweetle beetles battle with their paddles in a puddle on a noodle-eating poodle, THIS is what they call...
... a tweetle beetle noodle poodle bottled paddled muddled duddled fuddled wuddled fox in socks, sir!

Fox in socks, our game is done, sir. Thank you for a lot of fun, sir.

Now
is your Tongue Numb
?

"Again!?" My daughter requested while making the signs "more book"
"Can we read a different book?" I asked. Fox in Socks is a lot of fun, but after the fourth time in a row, a guy needs a break.
"Okaaay"
"What book should we read?"
"aybeesee!"
"A B C?"
"Yea"
"OK, where is it?"
"Ober dare"
"Ah...

"Big A... Little a, what begins with a?..."
"Aunt 'gator AAA"
Little did I know that this was going to be unlike the Dr. Seuss books I'd read before. I mean... well, you'll see.

Rules and etiquette:
  • During the game's nights, everyone who has to do so sends me an E-mail or PM. Always copy Phoebus.
  • Please refrain from posting game-related info in this thread during the night.
  • In the "morning" I announce the events of the night.
  • During the daytime you discuss and vote to kill someone. I will announce beforehand how many votes are required for killing. It is my prerogative to set a time limit on the voting; I will announce that at least 24 hours before the limit expires.
  • Under no circumstance are you allowed to show any E-mails/PMs from me or others.
  • Please do not discuss this game via Instant messenger, E-mails or IRL.... (unless you are part of a group, and then only when it is night)
  • If you are dead, you are dead. Do not post any information afterwards.
  • The moderator (that's me or Phoebus) is always right; you may not like it, but mods put a lot of effort in creating and moderating the game and their decision should be final. I override Phoebus if it ever comes up, but I'll back Phoebus in any decisions (after I return) unless it would break the game.
  • The night arrives when I post that it is night. Once a majority is reached, that person gets lynched. You may continue to discuss during twilight (while you walk home) but you may not post at night.
  • I will be using DP's lynch rules. The person with a simple majority gets lynched. If a deadline is set, the person with the most votes will be lynched as long as that person has half the majority.
  • You may vote to not lynch anyone. In doing so, you go home. You MAY NOT post again during the current day after voting no lynch unless you are dragged from your house by getting half the majority.

Oh, and read nothing into my inability to spell Seuss... even though I know how it should be spelled, my fingers can't seem to type it. I'll probalby mistype it forever, like "probably". ;)

I turned the page and began to read:

Our friend
Yoko Kurama
walked home with his llama
and then settled down for the night

There was a loud CRACK
as a knife hit his back
and he woke up with quite a bad fright

"Oh, why do I care?"
He said to the air,
it takes more than that to hurt me

"Bring it on," he said loudly
"I'm tough" he said proudly
Never once did he think he should flee

SMACK, WHACK, and Ker-splat
and you know that was that
what was left couldn't even make soup.

The bad guys were tougher
and quite a bit rougher
and Yoko wound up being goop...

"NO!" Willow screeched.
"Wow, I agree, that is pretty terrible! Let me read ahead to see what happens."

Hmm, seems like we got kind of lucky, assuming the "many assailants" means multiple killing groups attacked Yoko. Then again, that would mean there are multiple groups, which is not lucky.

But we're not here to discuss the setup of the game (at least not primarily), so

I'm guessing he was targeted by both the Mafia and an SK last night. It seems kind of odd that both would have targeted Yoko last night. But, I suppose we should be relieved, though, since the town is one player stronger than if there had been two kills.

Anyway, I think I'll start with...

Explain?
What is the point of using foul language, downright rudeness, slurs, etc on a gaming site? This is really distasteful.

unvote: willow's_weep

vote: big_kahunia

Ok, our mod is JEEP, that's fairly close to weep, his daughter is willow (she is still too young to log on mafiascum and choose her own nick) I know JEEP in real life and a couple of other players do too, I feared willow's_weep was an alternate nick of one of those other people, which I'm also opposed to.

As far as underscores being lame, it's about using them or not, not the number you use.

HOWEVER, seeing willow's_weep's avatar and what not, I doubt I know them, so I'm changing my vote to another underscorer and also I get to start a bandwangon by not listening to Fuldu.

Gaspode, I agree with you, "many assailants" seems to refer to multiple groups. Whether it is mafia and sk, two mafia groups (ex: werewolves vs. mafia) or some other mixture, I am not sure.

My guess is 2 killing parties, and they both targeted Yoko. (3 all targeting the same player is a bit too far-fetched). And who would want to kill Yoko? (Apart from me of course  ). Do we have any kind-hearted scum out there, who also conscientiously read the Vacation/Limited Access thread?
