With the new changes to the site, we will be changing how things work in the Mini Theme Queue. All games must be marathons. Marathons will be defined as games with deadlines ranging from 10 minutes to 1 hour for day and night phases. As you know this change should increase membership to mfascm, but my personal hope is that the shorter deadlines will eliminate the need for replacements.
I will also continue to allow the occasional Blitz game into the queue as a change of pace. A Moderator can only sign up for one of these with special permission from me. I need to throttle how many of these games we do, since it will not longer be part of the core mfascm experience.
The Mods currently in the queue up to mutantdelve are grandfathered in. These moderators may still run their games in the way they signed up. I would appreciate it if those mods agreed to adhere to the new policy, but I will not require it.
Every new game moderator after mutantdevle must adhere to the new rules.

After having a hot debate with the voices in my head I have concluded that, in my game, days 1, 3, 4 and 7 will adhere to this new policy. However, days 2, 5, 6 and 8+ will follow the old rules. I have made this decision so that players of my game will be eased into the new rule set instead of having to take it on all at once.

Wouldn't this mean that in any Mini Theme game, many players will not participate in the game at all because they are sleeping?
Should anyone wanting to run a 10-13 player game with unusual mechanics and standard deadlines just use the Large Theme Queue, the Normal Queue, the Open Queue (even for closed games) or the Micro Queue?

/in for every marathon. Now I can play mafia instead of rolling around in bed at 3am.
When can we get auto vcs? Like at the top of every game page?

I have inside word that all of those queues are converting to the new system as well. Part of why the open listmod changed.

This change will probably have very negative effects. In the vast majority of games, there will almost certainly be several slots that are completely vacant and do nothing at all. Effectively, you might be playing a game of Mafia with 7 actual players and 6 empty slots that will have zero content throughout the game.
It's clear that the site moderators did not think this through at all. (Unless it's an April Fool's joke, which seems likely).

I think this will significantly reduce the number of people on the site. Anyone who doesn't live in a range of timezones may never be able to play a game, even if they signed up.
Also, if we really are so far in debt, the ads probably wouldn't be fake.

The statistics say otherwise. More Marathon games have been run to completion this weekend, then our previous style of games have all year. This weekend was our proof of concept.

No, it really costs over $1,500 moneybucks to run MS for a year. Sans staffing and labor. It has been about this expensive for
years

I sincerely hope that there will still be minis; a lot of people aren’t fans of micros. You really don’t have any time for flavour, exciting mechanics and in depth strategic thinking. Not everyone likes large games or playing under presssure.
