I don't think you would non-random vote Glork like that as scum. It doesn't make much sense to me. Unless you're both scum and doing some bizarre distancing thing, and I think that's unlikely.

His change of vote to IH with the explanation "I like IH's cartoon"... just felt wrong. If he'd said "Shameless bandwagoning", for example, that would at least have sounded honest.

I thought all that banter between Patrick and Glork was a continuation of some running joke between them and didn't say a single thing about the alignment of either one.

I wondered about possible buddying up, since all his posts have contained comments about my innocence, but having read his reasoning I could see it as genuine (though even from my biased perspective, I don't agree with it).

Eh. I thought it was odd enough to deserve a vote and at the same time get out of the random voting stage. I don't really think that a pro-town player would have a read on someone that early, but he does seem to have some logic behind it. I don't think his logic really makes sense, but eh. It's possible that it made sense to him, and that's the important thing when discerning his alignment. In other words, it could have been telling and that's enough for me to probe it.

I'm trying to decide if it's indicative of anything... hence the probing questions.
Shanba pretty much answered what I was going for... you ask for explanation to get a sense of motive or thought process. His declaration was obviously not-random, so you have to seek further information yourself.

Yes, because first mentioning somebody on Page 1 of a game is quite sudden.

appleof88: I don't get the feeling Ripley does, but I don't see why you switched to IH. Why? You following Glork about?

I had the same feeling about Crub, but I don't think it's a strong tell. I can perfectly well see (and offhand think have seen) townies do the same thing. I guess scum probably do it more, but enough to make it indicative? Dubious, I think. I dunno.
