Alright lemme explain you a thing

N1 they lucked into the same kill as the Vig, N2 they went for the BP Bodyguard who never announced taking the hit, N3 they were jailkept but because of the previous 2 nights of fuckery the number of kills stayed the same - so town had no reason to believe there was a 3rd party, not through any conscious choice of Mary, but blind luck. Idling the kill the first 3 nights intentionally to hide their existence is a smart play that might be worthy of an award; getting caught in a perfect storm and dropped on a tropical island isn't. In addition, the only investigative role was Gunsmith (myself) so we had absolutely no way to find an SK even if we had reason to believe they existed post-N3 - which we had no reason to. Hell, I even checked Mary the night she shot me.

Also, this coming from someone who replaced out of that Large Normal as soon as they got pushed having spent most of their time in the game posting nearly zero content apart from AtE nonsense is hilarious.
Then they were never caught in the first place if they somehow got away?

You're basicly saying the setup made them win and your arguement is shit.

Also, Mary was either going to be killed by the vigilante or investigated by the gunsmith right after all scum were gone, so technically she wasn't playing that good.

Here is my qualifications for being a good townie:
Can you win games?
If the answer is yes, congrats you're a good townie.
If the answer is no, then you suck

I mean the problem with that is there's no skill metric for ourselves or the opposition.

Someone who can win every game in bronze isn't good at league yeah?

That could be happening to us, we'd just have little to no idea.

Town wins require most of the town to play well.

Likely all scummies awards are subjective, so if you feel someone played well as town, just nominate.

Oh I haven't really been talking about the scummies.

Main thesis is that lack of any sort of consensus on relative skill level, on what skills are important, and what examples of good and bad usage of said skills are, are a big part of what keeps players from improving.

blahblahblah wrong thread, but I'm lazy and the conversation was relevant.

Overall yes. I think a lot of town losses would’ve been wins if just half of the town was playing well.

Not particularily sure how the judging process works but I can't imagine it would be any other way than a group of people (not sure how they're selected either) talking about and judging people based on their personal metrics of whats good and bad.

Honestly - after most losses - there's probably some set of things any individual player could have done differently that would have flipped the result to a win. If the interest is in getting better that's probably the best mindset to have, and I think that the statement is generally true.

I could put in my own 2 cents for how I played that SK game but I am very clearly bias so I will stay out of it

mary was mass suspected. cool, whatever. she won purely off the luck of her kills failing n1-n3 - if a single night had double kills we wouslve known there was an sk. then, after the final scum lynch, it was a 50/50 between investigating and vigging her so even after her incredible luck with kills she almost lost and it was of no consequence of her play thst she won. moreso, a bad setup, lucky as fuck with actions, and that wasn't even one of the better games I've seen maria play as any alignment, she lurked and wss useless the whole game and won on luck while not influencing town at all. I can guarantee tiam almost vigged her on multiple occasions, she wss in his vig pool for a long time.

this isn't a slander against her as a player but that debacle of a game was not won by any play on her part whatsoever. I'm not salty over shit, they didn't "fool" me. I don't consider losing to a garbage neutral killing a real loss anyways but that's a different discussion. fuck off.

Do I think my won had a luck factor in it? Oh yes 100% Do I think it's correct to just say my play had nothing to do with it? No that's incorrect lurking out when a few people started to pressure me was planned because that town was gonna eat each other alive (and they did) the scum was obv so I just pushed it along with everyone else I can go into more detail but once again bias
do I think I should get the award? I'll let the judges make that call
