Epilogue


The night after ECMitchell's death marked the greatest celebration Murdertown had ever seen
since MiniDeathStar assumed her position as the mayor. Speaking of the devil, as soon as the
librarian had graced the town square with a new paint job, The_Jester was already yelling at
the megaphone tower.

The_Jester:
Hey, Mini! Get your sweet ass over here already! The mafia are deader than... than... than the
deadest thing you can think of right now!
MiniDeathStar:
Oh, hi Jester! Glad to know you're still thinking about me. Good job there! Thanks for playing
it by the script.
Transcend:
Wait, the script? Jester, what's that girl on about?
MiniDeathStar:
Umm, right. You weren't in on it.
Transcend:
In on what now?
The_Jester:
Uhh. Awkward.
ECMitchell:
We can explain.

Eyes immediately fixated in the general direction of the last voice. There was no mistake - it
really came from ECMitchell, whose head was somehow perfectly intact.

Transcend:
What the fuuuuck?
ECMitchell:
A realistic-looking prosthetic and some nifty acrobatics. Pretty cool, right?
The_Jester:
Just a prank, bro.

Along came also Sesq, Cooperative Sheep and Intermission. Kop meanwhile was helping Tucan
Safe remove his "Formerfish" makeup and theplague42 was enthusiastically discussing the play's
conclusion with his neighbours Siblings Quarrel. Transcend was still unsure whether he should
laugh or reread his Zombie Apocalypse Survival guide.

Sesq:
Poor Transcend. You should see your face right now, haha.
Bellaphant:
He's so cute like this though.
Frogger:
Bella?
Bellaphant:
Oh, shut up. You know I'm right.
Transcend:
You were all in on this?

Afraid so.
MiniDeathStar:
Transcend, remember when you decided to annoy me until I almost had a heart attack? This
was my way of returning the favour.
The_Jester:
Yeah, and let's face it, this town had started to get pretty boring. How was Scumville, Mini?
MiniDeathStar:
Overrated.
The_Jester:
That's my girl.

The megaphone tower receded in silence, but the cackles and pats on Transcend's shoulder
continued all night. Only Charloux seemed to not enjoy himself all that much, for one because
the shepherd didn't really die, but much more importantly because he had also pissed off Mini
in the past, and this charade served as a reminder that one day she was sure to return the
favour.

Game Rules


Please read this section carefully to avoid any infractions. Violations may lead to forced replacement
or modkill.

General Rules

  • Site Rules.
    Please follow all site rules.

    Play to win.
    Game throwing is the term when someone is intentionally doing actions that can
    make her affiliation lose, such as lynching self that will result in ending the game and losing
    your side. So play in accordance to your current win condition.

    No personal attacks.
    Mafia is a psychologically intensive game and sometimes discussion gets
    heated. Frustration and saltiness is expected, but it's not an excuse to insult and harass
    other players. Attack arguments, not the human being behind them. Abusive behaviour will
    get you replaced, and possibly earn you a site-wide suspension.

    Claiming.
    Claiming is part of the game as well as counter-claiming. If you think that there is a
    need in claiming a role, you are not discouraged to do so as long as you do not quote nor
    provide screenshots about the role distribution or any PM from the game moderator.

    Graveyard and strangers.
    Dead players, as well as unregistered ones, are not allowed to
    speak in the game thread. 'Bah' posts are not allowed.

    No discussion of ongoing games.
    Do not discuss the game outside this thread, or mention
    other ongoing games unless the moderator explicitly allows it. More information here.

    Be active.
    Try to post at least once a day. Being inactive for 48h will result in a prod. If you
    do not respond to a prod within 24h, you will be replaced. Accumulating 3 prods will also
    result in automatic replacement.

    Night actions.
    If you do not PM your night action within 24h of the night start, the moderator
    will gently remind you. This does not count as a prod. If you fail to submit your night action
    before the deadline, you will not act that night. This goes for mafia kills as well.

    Unstated guidelines.
    Please do not try to take advantage of loopholes and backdoors within
    the rules. Inform the moderator in private so they can clarify and update them. Rule abuse
    is punished on the moderator's discretion.

Posting Standards

  • Official colour.
    The colour
    #587b7f
    , as well as any shades that resemble it, is to be used
    only by the game moderator. Using that colour in your posts will be treated as moderator
    impersonation.

    English only.
    No other language is allowed. Greetings and such are acceptable.

    Do not hide it.
    Do not hide messages in invisible texts, tiny fonts (size<75), or cryptography.
    Breadcrumbing is okay.

    No off-topic posting.
    Avoid cluttering the game thread. An occasional sentence or two is fine,
    but remember you're here to play mafia.

    Ignore them.
    Do not quote, respond, nor give attention to violating posts. Since they are
    supposed to be deleted, do not extend their existence.

    Default styles.
    As much as possible, for proofreading and uniformity, use the default font colour
    and style in posting.

Game Regulations

  • Deadlines.
    Day phases last up to 14 days. Night phases last for 48 hours.

    Communication.
    The game thread will be locked during the night phase. Private topics (such
    as the mafia meeting) will only be open at night.

    Majority lynches.
    A lynch is achieved when half the players + 1 are voting the same person.
    As soon as the final vote is cast, the game enters twilight phase and any future votes will be
    discarded.

    Voting standard.
    It is recommended that you use the official vote tags. The bold tag is
    acceptable, but discouraged. Votes in quotes or spoilers will not count.

    Example:
    [vоte]MiniDeathStar[/vote] produces VOTE: MiniDeathStar


    Unvoting.
    Unvoting can be done via the unvote tag. It is not necessary, but it will be useful
    in some situations.

    Example:
    [unvоte]MiniDeathStar[/unvote] produces UNVOTE: MiniDeathStar


    No lynch.
    You may vote for no lynch in the same way as for a lynch. If a majority vote has
    not been achieved by the deadline, the day ends in no lynch.

    Example:
    VOTE: no one or
    VOTE: no one


    Votes are changeable.
    You can change your votes or unvote anytime during the day only.
    You don't need to unvote when re-voting.

Prologue


The bleak rays of the morning sun crept up the town square, revealing twelve sombre faces.
Above them loomed the menacing shadow of the Murdertown gallows pole, like a wooden
cross impaled over the grave of an unimportant corpse. Such was the fate that awaited
most of the condemned over the following few days.

Standing in front of them was the mayor, a young woman of short stature and fiersome
reputation, aptly nicknamed 'Mini Death Star' for her deceptive appearance that didn't give
the slightest idea she'd personally be responsible for more executions in Murdertown than
any of her predecessors. Combined.

MiniDeathStar:
You all know why you're here, right?

A few of the suspects nodded in silence.

MiniDeathStar:
Okay, so you don't. Let me just make this all clear. Since my *incompetent* detectives...

The mayor gestured towards a few bodybags behind her.

MiniDeathStar:
...couldn't solve the murders, I'm doing this the old-fashioned way. Mob justice. I'm rounding
you all up. You have it upon yourselves to expose the mafia and... take care of them.

She nodded at the gallows and her lips stretched in a smirk.

MiniDeathStar:
I'll be in Scumville in the meantime. Don't you think I won't be watching you. I don't want
failures. Good luck.

She gave everybody the fakest encouraging smile before theatrically striding away. The last
trustworthy person in this podunk town was now gone, and all they had to look forward to
was bullets and mob justice.

Good luck indeed. They sure were going to need it.

No sooner had the mayor stepped out than had paranoia enveloped the town like the waves
of an ocean crashing around a lone reef. The words exchanged were curt, the accusations
sharp, and the eyes glistening with panic and bloodlust.

So began the first day of the Murdertown trials.

Thank you. This is my first game on mafiascum, but I'm not exactly a stranger to mafia. It's been several years since I've played a game, though. So there's a little introduction from me, so that I'm not just asking the questions.
