Can't believe I, of all people, turned out to be the one remembering to post this time

I even set a reminder for it. iPhone, thou hast betrayed me.

Wow and I was just thinking I haven't seen this thread in forever. I never saw the April 22 posts.

Relax, now you all can stop thinking about this for one more month.

Hey, I just remembered that this thread existed. I think this should be a win?

Did you know that it's a little easier to work out when to set your alarm if the most recent post was a winning post?

A losing post, after a little under 10 days, will make the game that little bit more difficult.

As if people actually put timers on for this

I would probably have won earlier if I'd used timers. But doing that seems to defeat the point of the game somewhat.

(Also worth noting is that the longer you leave it before you claim a win, the easier it is to defend your win in the future.)

Bad.

You need to leave it well over a month to win at the moment.

The thread seems to get randomly bumped more often than that, meaning that my current victory will likely be secure for a while.

Can anyone explain to me how to win on this thread, please?

To win, you need to revive the thread after it has been inactive for longer than it has ever been inactive before.

For example, at one point in the past, the longest the thread had gone between posts was around one week; back then, you could have won by posting over one week after the most recent post.

The current record is considerably longer than a month. So winning is very difficult at this point, because if anyone posts too early, it resets the timer for how soon it's possible to win.

And a month is, coincidentally, about how long I haven't been on the site.

Resetting the timer so that I don't have to worry about this for another month or so.

So, I just remembered that this thread existed again, and checked how long I'd need to wait.

Turns out it's another 6 days or so, but unfortunately, I'm likely to be V/LA at the time at which the thread would need to be bumped.

The solution, of course, is for me to bump the thread again in the hope that the next necrosnipe time is less inconvenient.

(For anyone trying to do the date calculations themselves: the current winning interval is >4017402 seconds since the previous post. You're welcome.)

It's also less than 17 years.

Amazingly, I didn't use a timer for this. But I think it's a (very narrow) win anyway?
