Sure. I think there are two explanations for in-game drama on that magnitude

1. Both people involved are immature, overly sensitive, and self-absorbed, and selfish.
2. One is scum and intentionally tilting the other in order to distract the town from scumhunting.
3. It's a bi-lateral scum gambit.

I think 2 or 3 is more likely. Either way, scum theater.

If one or both are scum, playing to their history would apparently be a great idea, solid scum strategy.
