Well, just thinking of how I would react to a game like that, the strongest part of my townplay is my ability to give genuine reactions and questions that aren't super thought-out that make it pretty obvious I'm town. If I had to post 5 sentences in every post and I couldn't post more than once in a row without a reason, a LOT of that would go away.
I think there are some rules I'll have difficulty remembering and that will be true for everyone, but it can be a chance to grow and try something different. I will be having to count my sentences to make sure I don't go over, others will have to use the draft feature to work on their next post with the thoughts they wantd to post over rapid fire 8 consecutive posts
Also it's really bad when you're pressed for time and need to just say something quickly.
(Here's a situation like the ones I was referring to, by the way: I made my post and thought of something else I wanted to say. It would be super annoying if I had to wait until someone else posted to say it, as well as coming up with 4 other things to say as well.)
(Ironically, Plotinus and Gamma ninja'd me lol. But the point still stands.)
And the situation described in the first P.S. would be especially annoying if general activity is relatively low. It's frustrating enough waiting for people to post and not seeing anything, but it would be even more so if you weren't allowed to post either.

If you do not think you would enjoy playing in my theme game I strongly encourage you to not play in my theme game.
You can post, you just can't hit submit. You hit preview and then "save draft", then when you think of something else to say, "edit draft". Eventually someone else will post and then you can "load draft"
I don't know that I wouldn't enjoy it; as I said it would be a challenge for sure. But I would be a hell of a lot harder to read, as would most people I think.

I suspect that forcing players to interact with the game on a substantive level probably would have more of an effect for making people readable than anything else.
I think also that decreasing the noise probably has a larger effect than you're anticipating. When I read games on this site the suffer from one problem primarily, it is that players fill the thread with tiny, chat sized pieces of posts. Often with no game information. Often with in jokes. Often 10-20 posts at a time. Creature themselves is one of the foremost offenders and users of what I would call "hyper posting" which I think makes the entire game pretty much impossible to read.
I think cleaning up the signal to noise probably would help scum hunting tremendously.

To make a rule set that prohibits the ones that are most common and that I agree are most annoying.
I have a list of things I do not like, but there are lots of things that I don't consider, and I am not the sole arbiter of what makes a good mafia post. So I wanted to crowd source it a little bit.
I hosted a game that had different "stages" of the Day, and during the 2nd to last stage only "sound" arguments were permitted and if your post didn't contain a sound argument, well, you couldn't post (and everyone was limited to the number of posts they could make) - the final stage only allowed voting
it went over...ehhh, better than I would have anticipated but not something I will make so strict again
I think there are some minutiae that could be better.
I think 5 sentences is probably a bit strict - it might be good to loosen that number to something like 2 or 3, but be especially vigilant that short posts are being monitored for not being spam. Sometimes someone will have a thought that is best said in only two sentences, and trying to force a specific lower bound I imagine could make people feel like they have to add in chaff to reach a limit. It might be a good idea to just remove 5-20 as specific limitations and give them as guidelines, since you're making a lot of rules that are implicitly just your judgment. Sometimes a short or very long post is warranted and productive IMO. It is a problem when people only post very short or long posts.
I agree that logical fallacies probably aren't something that you want to moderate, and possibly also refusal to admit that someone was wrong, because logical correctness or otherwise correctness of a statement may be tied to alignment, and you would probably want to avoid having players read in to what posts you're moderating. IMO it's also the case that in the context of a mafia game one person saying another is flatly wrong about something is often just misunderstanding.
One more is not addressing recent posts which may be fair but also may also just wind up leading to people skirting rules. E.g. if I havent posted in 50 posts which is quite reasonable even under these circumstances, it will be difficult for me to catch up if there are several posts in the first 40 of those that I need to respond to.
Not really sure of any of this but. I might be interested in the game maybe depending on player count.

I agree. I may also become harder to read as I play in the moment, instead of 'filtering' my posts. I only filter my posts as scum. This will be a challenge and let's see how it goes, maybe it can make us all better. Hopefully.
I will tell you what will happen with me. I'll make my first post and review constantly. Then I'll brood over the fact I can only make one post, then my energy and thirst for blood will rise and that will fill into a pipe and the pipe will be closed and then at one point it will BURST.

Life is simply unfair, don't you think?
Policy lynches (aka not playing to your wincon)
Blindly sheeping townreads or experienced players
"I'm not explaining why, just vote x"
Quickvoting in LyLo (seriously people, the GOLDEN RULE is not to do this)
Acting like a Day 1 scum vote is a hardclear
"Doesn't matter, game is basically solved"
The list goes on and on but that's most of the major stuff
