Opening day's coming up, unless you're one of those detestable Yankee fans. So, what's your team and how do you feel about their prospects?

My team's the Cubs, and I'm excited. Though Prior's injury does give me pause, as it seems every day, the length he's sitting out gets longer. Still, with Maddox & Wood, they should do pretty good.

I also follow the Tigers, but I'm less excited about that. They made some moves on the off season, though. Maybe they'll win 70 games. :?

Jealous ones still envy.

Yankees ALL the way baby! Don't be so envious of a team that has 26 (or was it 27…hmm…there is so many I forget) world champions ships, the most ever of any baseball club.

The Yankees are like Hawks; they soar above everyone else, and all the other birds hate them, because they can’t soar as high as the hawk, no matter how hard they try. So they out cast the hawks, despising the greatness that they truly possess.

Hate all you want, but we are still #1!

Still, they have more loses than anyone else right now. Well, except for the Devil Rays, but I suspect there aren't any actual Tampa fans in existance.

I'm really not much of a sports fan. But I will watch a Twins game now and then.

Mets all the way, although I've hardly followed them at all in the offseason. I'm worried about the pitching, but I'm sure Reyes and Matsui can help make up for that. :)

By the way, I don't have much of a problem with the Yankees themselves. They're a great team, and they usually deserve the wins they get. My problem is with the gloating fans. They are what have driven me to be a semi-Yankee-hater. The fans either rub their wins in our faces or try to shoot down our nonexistent attempts to argue that our team is better than theirs.

That said, I do think the whole A-Rod deal was bad for the game...

I don't think Yankees fans are the worst. The worst fans are Braves fans with their stupid tomahawk chant.

If the Yankee fans are actually from New York, I don't mind them so much. But I know quite a few Yankee fans who were born and raised elsewhere. They tend to be Laker and Cowboy fans, too. :?

GO YANKEES!!

I only stick wins in the faces of people who completely hate the Yankees and will say anything they can to try and make them look bad.

I didn't really like the A-Rod thing as he isn't playing to good there and The Yankees are already spending enough money. But am so Happy they don't have Weaver anymore! Didn't they trade Orlando Henandez for him? STUPID TRADE! He is horrible.

I know I don't live in New York and I am a Yankees fan, but I live in NJ so who am I supposed to like.......The trenton Thunder?!?!?

Actually I do like them.....They are one of the minor league teams for the Yanks. I think AA. Right? Well, I have nothing against the mets and I would love to see them go to the world series. But I would also want the Yanks to win so if they went head to headd...Go Yanks. Other then that I like when the Mets win. (as in I like it when they win unless its against the Yankees)

Oh and to all those Red Sox fans out there....

see the thing with mets, i don't really care for them. it's just asshole met fans that i rub it in their face. i agree yankee fans are over confident, but hey we have reason to. and the reason we have more losses is becuase we started before everyone else. If you haven't notice, we suck @ 1st then always find out way into the post season. and imagine how i feel, i go to school with a bunch of sox fans.

but it takes more to be a red sox fan, than a yankee fan. imagine ur team not wining since 1918 and still haveing hopes of a dream that wont come anytime soon. 8)

Jersey's fine. But you have to see it's rediculous to be a Yankee fan in Michigan. Pick a team you have a chance to see live.

Quick, who's got the best record in baseball? Nope, you're wrong.

It's the Dee-troit Tigers, baby! Towering over the MLB like a Colossus, surely the Tigers 3-0 start over the mighty Blue Jays of Toronto is a sign of the Tiger dominance to take the AL by storm.

Detroit!

Make that 4-0, now that the Tigers have dispatched the Twins 10-6.

That's the problem with you Yankees: always resting on your laurels and living in the past. I mean, look, they've lost to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Twice! Whereas the Tigers are undefeated after defeating the powerhouses of Minnesota and Toronta. Toronto! And Minnesota! Truely, baseball is back in the Motor City.

Yeah so what we lost to the devil rays? @ least we make it to championships!

Tigers will the penant! Number 1! Bank on-- alright, I can't keep this up. The Tigers stink and the only reason they've been winning is the Jays and the Twins stink also. Still, it's fun well it lasts. I'm a bigger Cubs fan anyway.

Anyway, Yankees are strong this year with the pickup of A-Rod. I love how the BoSox are complaining about the huge payroll the Yankees have when the Sox have the 2nd highest and tried real hard to pick up the highest paid player in baseball.

New Issue: Should there be pay roll caps? Salary caps?
Ever wonder why that edit button is obnoxiously placed in the center like that? Yeah, that's cause of me.. and trust me, it's better off there.

a bit torn on the argument

on one hand, if the team has $ b.c they make more money, why shouldn't they use their $ the way they want. It's not the Yank's fault that they make i THINK 120 million a yr just on clothing and things like that.

on the other hand, it isn't fair to other ball clubs that have no $. Esp. the ones that are rel. new.

I don't think it's really the owners fault. It's really the players who want to have/get a high payroll. If the player is one of the best, and wants a lot of $, it's not the sox or the yanks fault that they can afford to pay him. Prime ex. A-Rod
he was going to go where ever they were going to pay him the most. It is understandable though...if u were as good as him, wouldn't u want to get the most money possible?

Of COURSE there needs to be salary caps! That way, we can prevent evil dynasties owned by Satan [[coughcough
Yankees
cough]] from popping up, and give lower-market teams like my Crew a chance. Plus, it's much fairer and a better game. There would be parody in the league like there is in the NFL. Parody kicks ass.

My team? The 4-2 Brew Crew. Wisconsin pride, baby!

You are too evil, you just have all the money in the world and you all show it off. We need more parody in MLB.
