I've thought about this on several occasions and have justifications

11. Cause it's about half the people in the game making merge that way and there ends up being 9 jurors so no way there's a tie vote at the end of the game

16-14 for the fake merge bullshit round then a cool 9 for the jury AS GOD INTENDED.
This is of course with the 24 player game start WHICH GOD ALSO INTENDED amen

16 person: 10

18 person: 11

20 person: 12

Any more than that: 12

Odd numbers if you have a final two, even if you have a final three. I like merges to be as big as possible because it sucks so much to be voted out premerge. But there's obviously some limit to that depending on the size of the game. And everyone who makes merge should make Jury!

I think if half or more of your players are voted out premerge, your merge is too late.

2. hehe

I think an additional question that is related is - how close to jury phase should the merge be?

Anywhere between 10 and 12, 9 if it’s a small game (16 players or less) and 11-12 if it’s a big one (24). Jury should start at the same time as merge, I hate how the game has moved away from this. Obviously for an F3 the jury point can’t be at 9 barring another twist.

Jury at 11 is a good number because the players don't know if it's F2 with 9 jurors or F3 with 8 jurors.

It's a feature, not a bug!

What if jury starts at F10 and there’s a Twistos Twist?

I like when the jury starts a few after merge because players can vote out someone who they don't want on the jury. Adds an additional element to the merge.

11 would be my ideal if I had to pick one, but I think variety is better. Think the final number should usually be known though. Hard to plan for either f2 or f3 being possible.

You have to keep in mind that aside from seasons 8 and 10, every pre-F3 season had the first merge boot not be part of the jury, so it's more that the show has been reverting back to its roots now sometimes

This is an interesting point I'd never thought about before.

It also gives all jury members a chance to know potential finalists more than just one round - especially if they'ever never been on a tribe together.

Merge at 13, jury at 11. In an 18 player game, consider moving merge to 12.

Merge at 19, f2 with a jury of 1

Do people give a crap about that kind of jury management at F12 though? It’s so hard to tell what people are thinking that early on.
