I think you have to be pressured in a certain way with your votes for it to be scum-indicative to switch. That wasn't the case for Lovebird as far as I could tell. When people back out of votes because other players don't like it, that is often a bad sign.

It seems obvious to me that scum first tried to put Brass forward as the alternative to Kokichi and then when that didn't really take off they're trying 2319. When you've got a scum in the noose, it's lynchbait that get proposed as alternatives.

I think Kokichi and Mulch are lovers. Kokichi is scum and is desperately trying to get confirmed as town. He decides to claim mason and hope that Mulch will go along with it. Honest town Mulch does not, but he does not want to die with his lover so soon. (Or alternatively, a not so honest town Mulch realizes that a counterclaim would be bad for town, and does not go along with the fake claim.)

I thought light was town initially because he's the one who would give me a false negative and he was the opposite night of me. Then Ranmaru made his shot and that read sorta went away because idk why that my role would get two false negatives. So I think Light's scum after all.

Regardless of that, I checked someone I thought was scum and others thought was town to ultimately sort the slot. It came up guilty. I think he knew it was him since his posting dramatically deteriorated once I made my soft announcement. Anyways.
