how would ppl feel about running a game with a more limited location list?
e.g. more like the traditional spyfall--grab 20 random locations to list in the opening post. then from that 20, roll one location which is THE ONE.

This is a good idea, by the way, in my turn as scum, I felt it was overwhelmingly hard because there were too many locations to choose from.
I've only made one good post, and don't you dare accuse me of doing it again.
That's what I'm feeling too. I had a good player not in one of the games trying to PoE one of the locations by PM for funsies. His logic was basically perfect but it was his "#3" option.
You're in. : ) we need 2 more players to start the next game.
By "full game", do you mean the full location list? We will be running a trial game with ~20 for game #6, which is more in line with the balance of the irl game.

I'm not sure if this is true... in the irl game, the spy can't go back and look at every single question and answer. That's hugely powerful.
I might be wrong, but I'm predicting that this game will end in a fairly resounding spy victory.
Fair point. I think my issue is currently, unless the spy is a master of PoE it is an extremely boring solving process. Town are also kinda going through the motions fmpov since there's generally not much to gain by giving vague/cheeky answers.
So... My feeling is currently it's townsided, and potentially risks being boring.
I see your point that 1/20 may be scumsided.
Do you have any thoughts on how we could achieve a better balance?

nah, i just meant, if this game was full (as in the playerlist just wasn't updated to show that it was full) i would join the next game. However, the game doesn't seem to be full so yay! (Honestly i feel like narrowing down the locations list is a better idea)
I think it's an interesting idea, even if just for a trial. I think SS is probably right. It's just a difficult balancing act adapting it for a forum environment while avoiding the risk of it being boring. >:
