That's right, it's time for...

The Survivor Season 37: David vs. Goliath MafiaScum Draft!

The SS37DvGMSD is a new classic! I do this draft every year with my friends and want to include y'all. The players can be found below. The short version of the rules is that whoever /in's can pick five Survivor castaways as their "team" pre-season, including one winner pick. Each castaway will earn points based on criteria listed at the bottom of this post. Whoever's team makes the most points by finale night wins! Separately, there will also be opportunity to play "Power Rankings" (explained in the next post), the winner of which will receive a slight point bonus in their total points at the end of the season.

the rules

Choose five players, and mark one as your winner pick. You may wait until after the first episode has aired to make your choices, but if you do so you must include the player(s) who was(/were) eliminated during said episode in your draft. Each episode, gain points when any of your five players do the following:

Surviving

Be one of the first three to be voted out and quickly forgotten: -3 pt
Make it to the merge: 3 pt
Receive a vote at final tribal council: 1 pt
Win $1,000,000: 3 pt
(If your #1 pick wins the game, +10 bonus points!)

Immunities

Be on a tribe that wins any challenge: 1 pt
Win individual immunity: 3 pts
Find a hidden immunity idol: 2 pts
Use an immunity idol correctly (defined as actually saving any player who would otherwise be eliminated): 2 pts

Entertainment

Win individual reward: 1 pt
Give the most confessionals in an episode: 1 pt
Find/win some other game advantage: 1

All adjudication regarding whether or not these things happened in an episode belongs to me.

Additionally, for a chance at 5 extra points (in my experience, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place draft participants are almost always within 5 points), you can play Power Rankings. See the next post.

Power Rankings

Power Rankings is a bonus game for a chance at 5 extra points to be added to your team in the draft. You may play Power Rankings without participating in the draft, in which case the best Power Rankings participant who is

also

participating in the draft will receive these points.

Each week, before the coming episode, you must rank all remaining castaways in that week's ranking metric. For the first week, you will rank players from 1 to 20, with "1" being "least likely to go home" and 20 being the most likely. You will receive the corresponding number of "Power Points (PP) each week according to who goes home. After each episode, one slot will be removed from the ranking metric, and you can re-arrange the remaining castaways however you like in preparation for the next episode.

For the season finale, you will list the remaining castaways in slots 1, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 from "least likely to win" to most likely, respectively (assuming the usual final 6 finale).

At the end of the season, whoever has the highest number of PP will receive 5 additional points to add to their Survivor draft.

Anyone who chooses to play Power Rankings but forgets for a week will automatically receive 1 PP for that episode, as if their power rankings were completely wrong.

Just as a note, the spirit of the draft is that you'd each choose your team pre-season. The "you may wait until after the first episode" thing is just a concession for those who forget/don't see this until after the season has started
But if you think it's more strategic to wait and you just like really really want to wait I won't be holding you accountable to this, which is why it's not a hard rule.

I mean that’s why you have to take the penalty of auto-drafting any and all players eliminated that episode - and who knows, maybe a twist will get two or even three players eliminated in the first episode.
But it’s a concession I allow so players can join late if they want
