I'm not actually sure what a kiln is but

maybe it's vaguely related to a fireplace?

A kiln is the oven they use when baking pottery.

My guesses would be:
Fire - Kilns get very hot!
Mug - mugs are very commonly made in pottery classes

I'm feeling very good about the above two, third one I'm less sure. Could be Tablet or Seal... maybe even Orange if we really stetch... I don't know.

For tablet I kind of picture an engraved clay thing like what they wrote cuneiform stuff on

Seal is like, they glaze pottery in a kiln to seal it and waterproof it?

And finally orange was just... some clay is orange. But now I realize it's more gray or reddish than orange.

top tier: dinosaur, tablet
second tier (but much, much less likely than first tier IMO): pirate, centaur.

I'd like to just guess the top tier unless you have a strong opposition.

I agree on dinosaur 100%. Tablet and Centaur both make sense, but leaning towards Centaur. The others are like... yeah they can technically be from 2000 years ago but that's not their defining feature like for dino and centaur.

I might be wrong but I think the term "ancient tablet" is pretty common, and is used to describe basically the medium of writing before papers were invented?

That's a good point. I could really see either being right. I think Centaur might not be as tightly linked to the past for most people compared to me, would be far from the first time.
