{8-PLAYER ELIMINATION}

Pointless

RulesWelcome to the syndicated version of Pointless, the quiz show where the popular answers mean nothing and the obscure answers mean everything.
For each question, thousands of Sporcle users were asked how many answers they could name in a category. Find out what they didn't know, and you'll end up victorious!

For the first two rounds, teams will answer separately, but you will be able to come up with an answer together in Round III.

All answers must be thought of by yourself; this isn't a test of how well you can Google answers. You cannot consult with any other players either.

Rounds I & II

For each round, a question will then be revealed, and all players will have

24 hours

to give the top 3 answers they're most confident about being both correct and obscure, indicating which is #1, which is #2, and which is #3. Only a player's #1 choice will count for scoring purposes, but in the event of a tie, the #2 and #3 answers of a pair's members will be used to break the tie.
The team will the lowest score (see Scoring) during Round I will earn safety, and will not compete in further rounds.
Similarly, the team will the lowest score during Round II will earn safety, and will not compete in further rounds.

Round III

The two remaining teams now go head-to-head to determine the final pair to earn safety. Team members can confer with each other before giving their answers in this round.
The pairs will now be presented with 3 questions at once, and have

24 hours

to give their top 3 answers for each of them. Similarly to rounds I and II, only the first choice will count unless there is a tie. The team that got the lower score for a question receives one point. The first team to score two points wins safety, and one member of the losing pair will be eliminated. The method of elimination won't be revealed until the end of the challenge.

Scoring

After an answer is given, the answer will be scored. If the answer is incorrect, it scores the maximum of

100 points

.
If the answer is correct, a number of points will be given equal to the percentage of total respondents polled who also gave that answer.
If a correct answer is given that nobody polled came up with—a Pointless answer—

0 points

will be given.
