Why Gamma was a Shitty Mod here and why he made poor judgement calls.
Okay first of. I am going to laydown some stuff for people to explain why I left the game. Why I think Gamma was a poor mod. Why I think this game should have been either called of or paused to deal with what I saw as Breaking the Integrity of the game. Now you may simply see what I am about to say as just shitty modding, but I think it was more overt and caused the game integrity to be broken and should have been cancelled.
This isn't a shit on any of the players on the game since this wasn't any players fault. Everyone who won deserved to win under the circumstances that existed. Those circumstances just shouldn't have existed and the game state was fucked too hard for me to consider worth continuing. I almost was going to continue just to embrace the challenge given to me but I decided against it since I didn't want to play under a shitty mod rules.
What happened?
Gamma refused to take my night action on Night 3. This caused Wisdom to remain alive. This caused Wisdom to IC one of the players. This caused my slots eventual lynch (although a lot of that was my own fault due to my reaction to it all with a fuckup claim; which btw the claim I gave was bs we didn't know about millers)
So you might ask. Well gamma had a reason to refuse your night action, right? Ohh he gave a reason. A idiotic one in my mind. I was late on submitting my action so gamma told me "Just because the mods are sleep doesn't mean you get a pass on submitting a late action".
So why is this a problem if I was late and according to the 'rules', my action shouldn't be counted. Well two things first. If you are going to make an argument that something is a rule and that is your whole argument. You fucking fail. A rule can be good/bad and there is always a reasoning behind the rule put in place to begin with so that we follow them with the intention to enforce what they were trying to go for. The rule on late action intention isn't to just punish people for being late on action submissions. Its to get people to submit actions early so they are counted so that the game can go at a certain pace. This is why some mods put in place a timer for action submissions and when the night officially ends to give them a buffer to process the night for very complicated games. The mods aren't trying to just punish someone because they failed to give an action in at a certain time. They are trying to keep the game flow going and not delay it unnecessarily. It has nothing to really do with punishing players.
If you think the rule is to punish players, please tell me so I can not sign up for your games. The games are for the players not the mods. And I really don't even think Gamma thought at all about this beyond the simple "well its a rule". What a moron thinks before they make decisions. Which is funny because even in his ruleset there is an explicit rule that says gamma can modify the rules as he sees fit. So he could have said "BTW since I was gone I am accepting all night actions that went past this point" Boom. Done. Easy.
So then you might say well gamma was processing the actions and since yours was late it was unreasonable for him to adjust because he already did the night. Nope! Gamma was 3 days late on finishing the night. He posted that we had 2 days for night. I was 8-10 hours late and normally my night action would be completely gone because the next day started. BUT! Since gamma never showed for another 3 days (which btw.
I pmed him to tell him to hurry the fuck up with the night since he was posting everywhere else on the site
). He didn't get to it till later. That is when he immediately rejected my night. Told me "I didn't announce there was an extension" then went and did a new day.
WTF
So. Gamma was late by THREE DAYS. He broke the fucking intention of the rule in the first place by not even attempting trying to keep a good pace going for the game. Then he punishes me for having posted a late action.
BTW. How long would he have taken to do the new day if I didn't PM him? I don't know but the dude fucked this game hard.
