what a strange response to hellbooks explaining the title for people that don't know lilith (you)

I feel it would be both insensitive and unfunny of me to suggest Spice of Lith

I don't think it's insensitive.

It's actually a reference to his love of the Saw franchise.
ngl, when I saw the nom I thought it might be a decent choice for Cakez.
Just saw this (pun not intended)
I don't think this fits me too well. I mean I ran that Saw game but it's not like a big part of my personality or posting on MS

How many people have you trapped in a room where they have to solve puzzles within a certain time limit or die?

Yeah, it was a knee jerk reaction to the suggestion, I don't think it quite encapsulates you myself. I was mostly just wondering if there was context I was unaware of that made it fit better for Gypyx.

I do think Cakez deserves a title for his unique large themes he’s modded (TENET, Jigsaw’s Revenge, The Thing)
I just don’t have a clear idea as to what can connect them. Maybe something to do with movies given those games having movie theming?

I don't think Sircakez the name and Jigsaw go well together due to them being rather disparate.

But it does feel right when I think of his jigsaw puzzle sets ups that are sadistic and complex (and a lot of work) as hell.

"Is A Lie " Too memey maybe? someone must have already suggested it surely. But it sort of gets at the same idea. Sadism, complexity, puzzles, and a tendency for people in his games to vote people off due to a seeming role incompatibility that results in a surprise town flip. It gets at that reveal bit quite well too.

You know what? Actually while it's sort of cliche it fits too well not to nom him for that. If he hasn't already been.

Nom SirCakez for Is A Lie

(I'm so sorry).

I laughed. Rather heartedly.

I realize it is a username pun, but unironically it does kinda apply to SirCakez--dude's gotten, what, like...eight back to back to back scumgames and in literally each one was trying to evolve his scumplay to not be caught? My concern there is that, username pun aside, that aspect is incredibly temporary, and the aspect the nomination is actually meant for (SirCakez's modded games), while much much longer lasting than the temporary meme of SirCakez permarolling scum, is also far more of a stretch (I can GET from "SirCakez mods complex games" to "Is A Lie", implying a level of bastard modding, but it's not an easy leap to make which feels a bit problematic to me).

So would love more feedback there.

nth Is A Lie for SirCakez

Not only is he the worthiest guy I can think of for a portal reference title (I do not support those lightly) every time I end up in one of his mod PTs (whether as a spectator or for other nefarious purposes) I hear the MS version of the Portal song at the end of the first game (This was a triumph, I'm making a note here; HUGE SUCCESS etc. Rest of lyrics on request). He approaches setup design with the same passion that GlaDOS has for scientific research and his games are barely full when he starts thinking of the next one. He also likes to subvert player expectations in his games (Tenet, SAW) which is perfect for the Is A Lie moniker.

Just my two cents.

re: title for cakes, I only vaguely get the reference, so I’m not sure how useful my input will be. I agree that he deserves a title and that it should be related to his creative movie-based setups. (One of my favorites is from like 2015 or 2016, based on superheroes/villains and with two games happening in the thread, alternating days, so he has a long history of creative setups based on movies.) I don’t really think of his games as “bastard” so much as like, out of the box, though I think “subverting player expectations” fits the “lie” part of the title just as well as bastard modding would.

here are my other cents:
When I read “sircakez is a lie,” my mind asked, “how is
he
a lie?” Similar to mastina’s thoughts, it feels a bit like we’re saying he has a secret identity or like, something about him as a player. I’m struggling to get from there to his games being a lie, even though I agree that his games can fit with the “lies” concept. secondarily, I think historically cakes was miseliminated as town a lot, so on one hand I can see a reason for sircakes (and not his games) being a lie based on that, but on the other, it feels mean for that to be a major part of his title. And, regardless of our intent, that might be something people think of when they see his title. Is it worth trying to tweak the title to make it clearer that it’s his games that are the lie, or does that ruin the reference altogether?

have you heard the phrase "the cake is a lie"? that's from the portal game.

I really love this nom for Cakez.

I wasn't sold, but then I read this and now I like it.

But is Cakez old enough to have played the original portal? Not to make anyone feel old but I think he was like 6 when it came out lol.

I know where the reference is from, I just know nothing else about it, which is why I don’t think my input should be considered as heavily as input from people who do.
