The context you might be missing is that Jake does this exact thing often enough that it itself is almost title worthy, and an end to that that makes everyone happy Jake included would be lovely.

If it's that much of a nuisance, rewarding it is even a worse idea.

and strongly recommend against anything to do with emotional outbursts or manipulation for Nancy. She's a sensitive person and this risks flaring up some personal trauma, which a title should never be a reminder of.

I would be interested in Nancy's take on the suggestion, personally.

I know it's not really done on general principal, but if there's a potential legitimate issue with a suggestion, the nominated member should be able to speak up BEFORE the offer is officially approved in order to save discussion time for more productive thoughts.
