Isn't that what the Johnny Cochran award is? He had a cop find him guilty and managed to live for a bit despite that.

It is 2004.... isn't it?

By the time they figure out who to give the scummies to it will be next year anyway.
...whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

Yeah, we should nominate a new person to host the Scummies this year, maybe we should have Gary Shandling(sp?) or Steve Martin, it would have to be someone with experience on the board

Now if only you could spell my name right, you'd get more cool points! :P

Hmm. This is a surprise...? :?

In any case, I won't mind doing the next edition but we do have to wait till january regardless I should think...

The start of the scummies idea (I looked at the old nomination thread) was started early December. I don't think it would be a bad idea to start earlier, though late September is probably stretching it a little.

Nominations - end november
Selection of Jury - mid december
Setting up of forums/threads - end december
Voting - January

If I am indeed to be the "host" would it be possible to get me access to the Scummie forums? We could probably use the same ones but I have a few ideas about procedure. Just wanna see if the something similar was used last year, and if not, set it up...

This time I think it'd be better to split the "Best Performance" award into "Best Town" and "Best Mafia". It doesn't really make sense to me to have a separate SK award and then lump absolutely everything else into the same category.

Well, the Scummies WERE going to be awarded the same night as the
Emmies
Oscars... So you might consider scheduling based on that.

-JEEP

Edit: Here's what we decided at the end of the last round:
"I guess this will be yearly. Jan starts official nominations? Then start judging some time in May?"

Note that the ?s are still there... heh. I would go with that, though.

(See it says Oscars and not Emmies...) ;)

Emmies = ~ July. Who wants to wait that long?

This thread was posted in April. Do we want to stick the Jan-May schedule?
Personally, I think a nice new year can be celebrated by nice new awards in Jan.

With the return of quite a few old hands - any thoughts on "best returning performance"

Also - "best newbie"? This will probably have many winners. But still...
Or "best performance(s) by a newbie". I don't think Rome should be counted here...not many of them make it to the other lists. Performances implying consistency...

It might be kind of cool if it could be hosted over the chat with the transcript being posted for all you missed it.
I really need to find a good quote

89-73... an improvement if you look at it that way.
