What surprised me the most was that FL didn't take a shot there after I flipped.

What an upset. I thought the game was over after Chandra scumslipped, but town played the rest of the game pretty terrible, and Bingle is a good enough to player to dodge few lynches. Eventually, the scum team came back for a huge comeback.

I thought this setup's balance wasn't that bad. Yes, it has this crazy superpowered town PR lineup on paper, but with all the counterbalances I put in to nerf the cops, janitored role flips, and the caffeine win condition (which is actually a very powerful alternate win condition that let the scum team endgame generally much,
much
faster), scum team has multiple routes to victory if they can negotiate the day game well enough. It doesn't take many players to start racking up the caffeine count pretty uncontrollably. pops and kuribo described the setup pretty well.

I thought the main reason for town loss for this game was all the pointless deception the town was doing to each other. This is a role madness + no role flip game, which means it can become very easy to become mislead and wrongly gauge the power on each team for any hope of a decent setup speculation. Many town aligned people straight up lied seemingly without a good reason (like town vig shots, power usage, caffeinated counts, Swamp Mansion, all of these are something you guys should explain if you get the chance), and many town kept barking up the wrong tree, which contributed to midgame anarchy we saw.

Also, town's vigs massively contributed. I think Fish Monger slot was goners after how day 1 went down, and Marquis got a good kill off there and gained some tempo for town. But then, we had back to back Kagami & gobbledygook shot. This not only caffeinated Flavor, but removed some key town power that could potentially corner the mafia team at endgame. I think Flavor realized just how badly he fucked up after gobbledygook shot, judging by his flurry of posts in Day 4.

It was entertaining for sure, and I love cheering for the underdog team and seeing them win. Thanks for playing.

What was the logic from PP and Vecna to vote the person with two Innocents on them? I would like whatever they are having.

Also, I deserve an apology from FL.

That Croag was scum who knew her alignment, and I was naive (which I was, but not in role).

Like, despite being scum, BingleJingle did a good enough job of laying it out that I second guessed myself.

Like I don’t want to pin this loss on any one particular player, but I’m also not gonna say there
isn’t
any one particular player who is more culpable than the rest. :shifty:

That said, I do think town lost this game rather than scum win it.

FL, please don't replace into games I'm in.

Sadly, this was the one time I decided NOT to fake claim!

Imagine if I really hadn't been caffeinated but claimed to be. We would have had a D6 with me as conf!town, Marquis as conf!town and the two cops who were TR'ing each other vs Bingle. *Sigh*

Respectfully?

Town shot a cop. I had 0 agency in the kills I had to make. JJD tried to lolvig N1 as a 25% chance vig when he was a 75% chance doc and there was a claimed must be killed or we lose role in the thread. Scum in this setup has one role that absolutely has to endgame. If chandra and I had swapped spots, I would have been in mechanical autolose on N2.

I understand the thought of balance by "Well, town can just fuck themselves royally." But I disagree in this case, severely.

In any event, thanks for the game, it was a ton of fun despite being all sorts of busted.

Jingle, if Chandra didn't scumslip and some town got lynched D2, you could have endgamed as early as D3 lynch (assuming town maintained their shitty night play), even after losing Fish Monger.

If Marquis shot wrong on D1, you can endgame as early as D2 lynch if town maintained their shit night play, along with couple extra hero attempts from the docs.

I didn't balance the game while expecting to go through many Night phases, because the caffeine mechanic, unironically, speeds the game up dramatically.

They literally didn't even lynch anyone at LyLo.

Like people got salty with me about being condescending but...

I just wanna be all "WHAT DO YOU THINK THE LO IN LYLO STANDS FOR AND WHY DOES IT IMPLY YOULL LOSE IF YOU FAIL TO LYNCH"

My reads weren't as bad as I thought
pops: I was townreading him, but ehhhhhhh. I'd go so far as to say I lean that one of pops/Marquis/Bingle is scum, but not all three and likely not two.
I have a shockingly high success rate when I narrow things down to X scum in Y grouping.

Only if there aren't a bunch of roles that are very obvious holsters, like the tracker in rolemadness who knows there's two ninjas or the hood of potentially useless 1 shot roles who KNOW they're low equity or Vecna, who literally can't ever be caffeinated.

Maybe I'm just salty over having the run I just had, but this setup seems incredibly townsided from my POV.

Anyway, that dead thread was a super fun read. Have I mentioned recently how much I love kuribo? I love kuribo.
