How am I supposed to have any idea it’s my turn when I didn’t receive a pm and NM’s name is still in the title?

wait does plotinus send 'it's your turn pms'?

also i don't have perms to change the title

edit: i think he only sends hands and prods. no 'it's your turn'

Yeah, just hands and prods.

I PMed the mishmash mod about giving Sirius9121 perms but I haven't heard back, I'll try PMing a different one. I'll edit the topic now and prod Nancy now and then she'll have (expired on 2021-05-14 00:59:39) to go

Nancy Drew 39 wrote: 8, 17, 52. Where the first two numbers are the inverse of the third? 8 + 17 = 25 which is the inverse of 52?

Can I do this?
We allowed this from Nancy last game so I think it's okay this game too. The sum of two numbers in the sequence backwards is a number in the sequence, so either you play 3 cards at once or you play two numbers together that sum to one of 8, 71 or 52.

pedit: idk, whatever sirius decides, but my inclination is to say "post it and ask the person who started the sequence if it meets their vision for the sequence"

if it takes 2 days to reach a decision then the auto-move for Farren's turn is to post the move he PMed us

all right, so let's do it this way.

Hypothetical: I try to play a 6 to the sequence of "sum 2 numbers and reverse the digits" - 8 + 52 (already in the sequence) = 60; reverse the digits of that and you get 6. Legal, or no?

(This is not my move, but I believe in good faith it accurately represents the case in question.)

Can you explain to me how they’re similar? @Farren?

(I’ve not been feeling well and can barely see our of one eye).

The question is: can you add one number to the sequence if that number plus two other numbers in the sequence follow the same pattern?

8 and 52 are already there; 8 + 52 = 60; 60 reversed is (0)6. So could I play a 6 to that sequence, using that logic?

(I've submitted a backup play via PM in the event this is ruled illegal.)

Okay I get the 8 + 52 but can you explain the 6?

Reversing 60's digits turns it into 06 - drop the leading zero as it's meaningless and that leaves 6.

I guess that’s okay. @Plotinus, do you think it’s the same or not?

I've sent a PM to Sirius (ccing Plotinus) asking for a final judgment, as we're past the prod timer.

If Sirius approves the move, he can post and process it. (Or he can post that he approves it, and I'll post it myself as soon as I can.)
If he rejects the move, I submitted a back-up move that he can post and process instead. (Or he can post that he rejects it and I'll post the backup move as soon as I can.)
If he doesn't respond within 24 hours, I'll post the original move and ask for the judgment of the other players instead so we can get the game moving again.
