I'm more then willing to play through multiple games of this after I play through whatever Civ I'm assigned first.
Civ is super replayable and each game is its own little story, so yeah.

I am tiebreaking in favor of Korea. Sorry Elbrin, Korea is just a far more interesting civ.
Like, straight up, Korea's units are hilarious.

The Huns vs Russia

I though about who I am tiebreaking in favor of for this for a bit.
Russia is someone I've been wanting to play for awhile now
And while the Huns have a playstyle I'm not that used to, I think it will be extremely entertaining.
Plus, we can do a singalong about how I'm going to make a man out of someone or something

I'm tiebreaking Huns over Russia for content.

I'm tiebreaking Shoshone over Spain. I suggested Spain to try and make sure everyone was paired against something else in the bracket.

all of Korea's units are actually hilarious
sure their passive makes them extremely broken, we all know this.

I'm not ever using Samurai. Straight up, I'm not researching Steel until I finished Research Lab tech.
Steel is the worst tech in the renissance era and immedately after you research that, you can research musket tech.
Longswordmen just aren't a thing, and to actually get culture from fishing boats, you need to build fishing boats, and those things take so much production for a 1 term use.

Zeros aren't amazing either (they would be if they were a Triplane replacement!) and their passive just sucks.

I will say tho, the color scheme for that civ is super dope.

Also I was actually hoping Korea wouldn't win against The Huns, since while Turtle Ships are situationally funny, Battering Rams are funny and they're not situational.
Oh well shame

Chapter 1

- The first 71 Turns

Anyhow, these are the rules we will be playing on


anyhow lets get in game


well first lets move our warriors out a bit


As for this settler, I think I want to be right next to the mountain.
Hopefully I'm not moving away from my iron or horses by doing this
On strategic balanced I will get 4 horses and 6 iron in my starting location


Marble and Bananas and Sugar. This was a good choice I think.


btw I'm using the enhanced user interface mod, thats why my hud will look different compared to what it normally is.
Anyhow I want pottery tech because I want to build a shrine, I want to build scouts and we foudn ruins!
Also we are gonna grow pretty quickly because we have a lot of growth, we're currently working the cattle which is 3 growth


The ruins gives us culture which is good!
we get a policy next turn in fact!
We'll be opening in Tradition
Also we found another ruins and we'll be making our way down there.


The ruins upgrades our warriors into spearmen.
kinda wish I was huns atm because if I just stumbled upon an unprotected flatland city, I would take it with battering rams
no questions asked


We expanded to the Marble and we also grew, so we will work the Marble since that gives us the most amount of food atm.
We also have our scouts so lets start exploring with them
We're building a monument which we will sell off when we get the free monument policy.


We're gonna hold off on building the monument for a bit and try to rush the shrine, also there's a camp and ruins next to the camp.


Yay a pop ruin!
this is easily the best ruin in the game, population like this is good!
We also just got the Bananas and can work those


Our scouts met Vatican City and we have enough faith to found a pantheon!
its also extremely close by so we should definitely be able to steal workers from them
Anyhow since we found that and its 10 turns till our next policy, I'm going to put the Monument ahead of the Shrine.
We already have a Pantheon anyways

speaking of which, lets talk about what we're going to find for our pantheon
Culture from Pastures seems ok, however we really need to find a way to actually get a Relgion
We might go God-King because we honestly don't have anything thats that better.
Actually, God-King is super good because we were the first to meet Vatican City
Yeah, we're going God-King


A bit happened, first we were the first to meet Jerusalem
so we're even more ahead in Faith
and we also met The Zulus

Also we have 6 horses within range of our Capital
So that is good


Our scouts also found ruins and the Grand Mesa


Oh god is this a game where I'm going to be killed off
thats not fun

Anyhow we built our Shrine, its time to expand
we're building a settler, and the ruins gave us gold, which is enough gold to buy the sheep.
So we're working a ton of production and we'll have a Settler out on turn 5

Anyhow we got our free monument tech now
we're going to settle our 2nd city right next to the Barb Camp, I want the dyes and if we get a Great General, we can steal the spices from the city state
we're also going to hard build a worker lul

We settled the City of Busan, and we have whales as well
this city is worth happiness wise, though it might not be worth the tiles.


Also I bought some tiles because we NEED this hill, and they also have workers for me to steal!

Anyhow now we're unhappy and we need to start improving luxuries
we can also work production since we're not growing, we're actually starving but we'll lose pop in 16 turns, by that point we should have a granary up and running


We get another policy and Monarchy should fix out Happiness issues as we got from -1 unhappiness to +1 happiness.
We still need to get some luxuries online.


Barbs are in our way trying to escort the worker, and also we're gonna build another settler.

We finished Mathamatics so we can build hanging gardens atm, but I want to expand first.

We also just finished Mining and we're now researching Calendar


I see 1 more worker to take so I will take that


Looking down there's 2 city states there and oh boy Shaka is expanding.
Anyhow I think I want a Caravan so I can feed Busan food

Anyhow we get Calendar and we also need Masonry so we can clear the marsh to actually work these luxuries


We finish our Caravan so we can feed Busan food, we get Masonry Tech so we can actually improve the sugar and the Marble, I think I'm going to go for Iron Tech to try and get myself Iron


What is the Zulu doing sending an army up here
also I'm bad at the game and we starved and lost a pop.
Oh well.


Discovering Iron gives us 6 Iron in both of our cities.

Anyhow now we're on turn 44.
Seoul was 5 pop but it went to 4 because lol i'm bad.
Busan is at 3 pop popping out a Granary next turn.
Jeonju hasn't been growing because I'm bad, but it produces a Shrine next turn.

Lighthouses I don't need so no reason to go for Optics
Currency and Iron Working is a waste of time to research
I think I am going to go for Writing I'm finishing the Hanging Gardens in 3 turns so we should be able to get that and Librarys will actually start to produce meaningful amounts of Science since we're gonna grow a lot.


Busan is gonna build a Chariot Archer, I am kinda scared of a Zulu attack atm since his military is near and there's nothing else thats really better for that city to build atm aside from a Work Boat

Anyhow lets research Trapping, also I'm going to build a Chariot Archer in Seoul to kill time and have a military so I can defend myself
