Mishmash Bracket Night

Earlier tonight xofelf sent me this tweet:
I am absolutely the sort of person who would argue about rocking chairs vs recliners (recliners all the way, baby) so I decided to make our own bracket night with our first topic being suggested by the Mishmash Discord. So here's how it will work. Voting on the current match can be done with vote tags or bold text. Polls will be up for 48 hours. Please defend your vote!
Our first topic is Ways To Eat Potatoes. Here's the bracket:
First up we have
(1) Mashed Potatoes vs (16) Boiled Potatoes.
Mashed potatoes are versatile and delicious. Butter, garlic, gravy - the possibilities are endless with mashed potatoes.
Boiled potatoes are one step away from being mashed, which gives them a different texture. Traditionally seasoned with herbs, the boiled potato is a common dish in Eastern Europe and South America.

TBH I'm expecting the 1/16 matchup to be a blowout in favor of mashed.

My guesses of what the more popular things would be, balanced by my own personal opinions moving things up and down a few seeds.

Mashed, no argument

Mash sticks to things so i am forced into eating some of it. Boilded just all goes to the side of the plate as something I don't want to eat.
Therefore mashed is the better way to eat them out of these two.

Mashed hands down. You can put all sorts of things in it. Boiled are only acceptable if they're salt potatoes, and those you have there absolutely are not, and thus inferior version.

Like come on, why would I eat a whole potato, that's sacrilege.

Boiled

Mashed
In addition to being the clearly more delicious option, there is also a more accessible version of said option for those who do not have the time to make mashed potatoes from scratch. Thus instant mashed potatoes, although a fair to middling imitation of its namesake, mean that everyone can enjoy lovely, garlicky, buttery mashed potatoes even if they are very busy or are unable to lift a masher!
There is not an instant version of boiled potatoes. Also they are gross.

Mashed takes it in a resounding victory!
To speed things up we will now be doing two matches at once.
(4) Tater Tots vs (13) Hasselback Potatoes
Tater tots are a classic snack, perfectly shaped for dipping in any variety of sauces.
Hasselback potatoes are one of the most aesthetic preparations and the thin slices crisp up to a delightful texture.
(7) Potato Salad vs (10) Gnocchi
Potato salad is a staple of many picnics and comes in both a mayo-based version and a vinegar-based version.
Gnocchi is not quite pasta and not quite a dumpling, but it is fantastic either way.

I'm not sure how to vote in the second matchup because I loathe mayo-based salads but love vinegar-based salads. In retrospect having them share a bracket slot was stupid.
