both of these are amazing. I've been hooked on Night of the Full Moon before, but it's a mobile game, is a lot easier generally, and has some problems (bad translations, things that absolutely aren't clear). The art is lovely though, and it's one of the reasons I really liked it.
It has different classes and the first one is free, so if you don't mind the problems it has you should definitely give the free class a try, the game has been a lot of fun for me!But I know, at the end...Shoot me a message if you need a game reviewed!-

Sincere question about Ascension on Steam since I briefly played it on Mobile, do you need to buy each deck individually, or was that just the mobile version?
I've only made one good post, and don't you dare accuse me of doing it again.-

Procedural generation along with permadeath. Granted, the term is more expansive now than it was even when I started playing roguelikes appx 10 years back.
I've only made one good post, and don't you dare accuse me of doing it again.-

The poor balance on what parts of slay the spire actually have a shot at killing your run make it not feel that much like a roguelike to me starting with like your sixth play where you're competent. Like Act 2 is a roguelike and none of the rest are. You get to have a lot of fun optimizing your deck further in Act 3 and doing gratuitous infinites but it's not particularly roguelike when the permadeath risk goes away.
And act 1 doesn't really have that rogueish feel of like, "I got a good item, but will I die and have to start over and not really get to use it?", it's more like, "I got a good item, I can't lose in Act I anymore, that's pretty much the bar"
There are increasing difficulties you get to set to but that doesn't redistribute the risk among the acts.
that said I'm afraid to look and see how many hours I put into the game"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"
"Well, I..."
"What? Nothing? You would make the prince suffer over... nothing?"-

I have heard good things about Library of Ruina in terms of a rogue-lite cardgame. I haven't played it myself but it's a 'sequel' to Lobotomy Corporation which I have played (Lob Corp isn't a card game though. It is still a good rogue-lite though, check it out)THIS POST IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT.-

Noted, I got a few early access games last weekend, but have not played them enough yet to say whether they are really good. One, though does have an interesting thing where you can either have combat or a social interaction. In post 12, vonflare wrote:I have heard good things about Library of Ruina in terms of a rogue-lite cardgame. Ahh this thread actually prompted me to do some more research on Library of Ruina. It's apparently has deck-building similar to Slay the Spire but it's also a party builder and each member of your party has their own deck. So it's more towards Darkest Dungeon on the scale of permadeath - death of your characters, not the campaign itself. You play as the guardians of some cursed library and turn intruders into books. And it looks so stylish...

Sadly it's not on sale in the current steam summer sale. But I want to pick it up when it goes on sale eventually though.THIS POST IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT.-

Oh, I was playing some Griftlands last night before I got pulled into heavy Ozark watch. That's the deck builder that has a negotiation deck and a brawl deck for the first character. It's good. Will be checking the Spy sometime today (Supposed to be bad weather, so I suspect the girlfriend and I will be inside).I've only made one good post, and don't you dare accuse me of doing it again.-

I'm pretty sure I have this on Steam and it's free! https://store.steampowered.com/app/7695 ... Full_Moon/In post 2, Zaphkael wrote:both of these are amazing. Neoverse is decent. It feels different enough from Slay the Spire
https://store.steampowered.com/app/9606 ... From_Eden/
This is very similar in genre but is action based rather than turn based. The game looks fun and is fun, in my experience-

The ascension deckbuilding game? The base game comes with a lot of the expansions in it, there are a few extras that you can buy. You get a lot of stuff without having to buy extra. In post 3, brassherald wrote:Sincere question about Ascension on Steam since I briefly played it on Mobile, do you need to buy each deck individually, or was that just the mobile version?

I've been spending a decent chunk of time on Monster Train. It's actually pretty good. I normally run Stygian/Hellhorned because Torches are so good to have generally at all times."Animorpherv1's posts are so powerful that prolonged exposure may cause vertigo, nausea, acute tinnitus, and in rare cases, death." - vonflare

Fate Hunters:Good art and solid early game. Long game is lacking. Buy it on sale.
Last Evil:It's a porn game. The card game is good enough if a touch on the easy side, you balance energy, which recharges every turn, with Desire which you have to manually build up and carries over battles. But it's a porn game, and you will be treated to poorly made cgi sex scenes after every. damned. battle.
Full Moon:Mentioned up thread, but lovely. Good balance, the classes are different, the 'story' is interesting enough that you're motivated to see the different endings, and the enemies have a wide range of tactics for you to work against. The biggest drawback is the DLC integration, which is broken. Later DLCs seem to have dependencies on elements from earlier DLCs.
Grab the full game. If you get the DLCs, get all of them or its a crapshoot as to whether stuff will work.-
