I have a pet theory that perhaps it's two and bunno eventually hammered after

nancy in the scum pt pestered him into hammering it for towncred

but I'm gonna go back and read what was going on in the thread to see if that even holds up. I feel like nancy is the kind of scum partner that would pressure her scum partner to do something like that just from interactions she's had this game

This is a scum post if I ever saw one.

Only thing I can think of is, he’s trying to save his buddy Bunno and scum distance simultaneously.

So he positions me as the bigger “threat”, which no town ever who isn’t buddies with Bunno would do.

Now this threat only makes sense in his mind if he knows us to be town - because he can't spite us by wrecking something good for the town if we were scum.

First I gotta apologize for the awful distribution of roles. Sadly I don't think this test run was very informative on the balance of the setup, because this particular role distribution was quite scumsided, but it's rare for something this lopsided to happen (and even lopsided isn't all bad; it's just the surgeons not being able to heal each other that made this one rough).

Yeah, I would suggest if you rerun it to make no more than 3 of each town role and at least 1 of one.

Dafuq, not a single gardener in this setup with 6 freaking surgeons? @Bugs htf did you sr us when we were the only sentry claim?

The reason I don't like to limit roles like that if I can avoid it is that if you get a setup with the minimum or maximum count of a role then you can end up mechanically confirming people as town or scum. (For instance, if there's 1 Gardener, 3 Sentries, and 3 Surgeons, and scum claim Sentry + Surgeon, then the Gardener claim is confirmed town and it's known there's exactly one scum claiming each of the other two roles.)

I would much prefer to modify the setup so that it's more resilient to extreme scenarios like this one. Maybe that would mean dropping the macho but not allowing surgeons to target someone they've targeted at any previous point in the game?
