alrighty I am back ^^,

Still in the same place I was before, I don't particularly see why Lowell would be lasted for thinking self voting is scummy, except that he was absolute about it.

Will post more <possibly vote> tonight

Man this quesiton is dumb. Okay, pick any of these:

1) It enables one to avoid offending ANYONE with their vote. Even a random vote of another player sometimes draws a "huh. why that person?" to which a response, albeit a small one sometimes, is necessary.

2) It's lazy as hell, and shows that one has no interest in making any effort at all to draw out responses from other players. It's an attempt to look cavalier and unafraid, but really looks the opposite.

3) It insulates one from being near lynch. For example, you jumped on me for putting natirasha at lynch -2. However, ONE OF THOSE VOTES WAS HIS OWN!! So essentially it would still take THREE more votes to kill him (after he moved his own vote away) but everyone was scared to put a vote on him lest he be at lynch -1. A player voting her/himself is basically playing with an extra card, and can dump one of her/his votes whenever s/he wants.

People are rarely offended by random votes anyway. Day leaves random voting stage once a misunderstanding of some sort occurs (like you thinking self-voting is scummy)

You know what else fits this definition? A post with nothing but a vote in it. Guess who did that?

Some people jumped at you for making an L-2 this early, but they were wrong as L-2 this early is not bad and doesn't really mean all that much. The REAL argument against you is the crap case you used to rationalize your vote. So this reason doesn't fit the circumstance at all.

Here's my full thoughts, up to and including this page:

8- Natirasha self-votes
9- dcorbe calls it scummy
10- DBE disagrees
14- pojedinac votes natirasha
15-35- inane chatter
36- Lowell votes natirasha for self-voting
38- dcorbe again thinks natirasha scummy
39- korts votes lowell, calls self-vote non-tell
40- natirasha metas himself, says self-vote normal
41- poj questions nat for self-votes and korts for L-2 issue [good]
44- rofl enters, votes Lowell
49- rofl unvotes, votes poj for holding his vote for a lurker
52- rofl annoyed by DBE unvote
56- DBE votes rofl for harassing her about her vote
59- alab confirm votes Lowell for L-2
60- DBE suggests poj's lurker vote most scummy [good]
63- alab FOSs DBE
64- nat votes DBE for OMGUS
73- lowell says he hates self-voters [smart]
74- rofl votes lowell for opportunism [idiocy]
77- korts unvotes, doesnt want lowell at L-2
81- alab agrees w/ rofl, calls self-vote meaningless
83-89- argument between Lowell and rofl [inane]
92- poj sides w/ alab/rofl/team scum love
100- DBE doesn't get why lowell is scummy [join the club]
101- lowell's long-awaited response [the crowd goes wild]
102- alab responds [the crowd leaves, bored]
106- DBE votes lowell for pressure [very strange]
109- korts votes lowell (4th vote), chastises DBE for saying "only pressure"
110- Lowell claims everyone's mother

Alabaska
- Alab put a random vote on my on the first RL day, and hasn't moved it since. The closest he's gotten in any way to even half-way accusing anyone else was an FOS on DBE... AFTER rofl had already done the same. I was also put off by post 102. It's the kind of "analysis" post that's safe for scum, as it doesn't cast much of a net and does more to defend other players (Nat) than expand his curiosity of the game.
very scum

DBE
- She strikes me as town, except for post 106, which undermines both her general cautious outlook (doesn't like to vote, received heat for it) and her stated opinion 6 posts earlier in 100. Still, probably
town
. I liked post 60 in particular, for some reason.

dcorbe
- looks
town
to me, though his posts are limited.

korts
- taken together, 77 and 109 don't make much sense. Nothing changed between those posts other than he now thinks he can get away with it.
possible scum

rofl
- By far the most annoying, specifically regarding the self-vote is-it-or-isn't-it issue. However, he's been in a lot of people's faces, and is not so blinded by tunnel-vision. His overall aggressiveness in general reads
town
to me.

natirasha
- I don't like the self-vote OR the "I always do this!" defense of it. Call this a pavlovian tactic, but until someone teaches him that self-voting looks scummy and will garner votes, he'll be able to use this tactic to avoid doing anything early in games. Which is what I think he's doing here. The biggest point against that is alab steadfast defense of him, which seems more likely to be attempting to earn favor with a shy townie than any other alternative.
possible scum

pojedinac
- I liked post 41, but since then he hasn't impressed me. In particular, I don't like his quick agreement with the alab/rofl lowell wagon. It seems a little to opportunistic and incurious. No real read one way or the other, though

sykedoc
- No posts yet. Uh, I guess we don't care about that, apparently?

Yeah. Didn't explain in full. The exact reason for my vote was that nothing changed. Your posting hasn't become more helpful, with the possible exception of post 101.

very scum
OMGUS plain and simple. The reason I didn't move my random vote was because you started acting scummy.
dcorbe
- looks
town
to me, though his posts are limited.
Why? Because he is the only one who agrees with you about the self-voting? He really hasn't said anything else. This should say nulltell. Sounds like pandering to me.
rofl

He voted pod for doing something scummy and told Darla to do something instead of just watching the game unfold. He's been on you for the past three pages. Save his vote on pod, there hasn't been anything different between us, yet I'm very scum and he's town? Just confirms the OMGUS with me. This analysis seems like you're trying really hard to make yourself look objective by calling someone voting you town.

Also,
FoS: Korts
. The whole vote-unvote thing looked like distancing to me.

In my opinion, Lowell hasn't done anything THAT scummy except not be incredibly helpful.

His last post was helpful especially considering I hate going back and recording all that stuff myself.

I wasn't alerted by his play style early on because it seems to be his SOP in other games I have been in with him.

I will say his reaction to his bandwagon seemed pretty town, He didn't get all jumpy and defensive as I have seen scum do so many times, although that could just be experience working in his favor.

I don't particularly know if I am ready to see him lynched, and since he is at a L-1 I will
unvote
and look over the case again.

i'm a bit wary of this. obviously its not just trying to get on my good side (you are calling me annoying after all), but saying i'm town seems like an easy way to try and get me to back off. and if you're scum, then you know i'm town.

however, i didn't find anything in that post that really misrepresents anyone, which is something i'd expect from lowell-scum in a post like that, so for now i'm willing to write off our disagreement as just that, an honest disagreement. still not lynching natirasha over the self-voting though.

@Lowell Sorry, I'll try and post a little more, though I'm having a difficult time trying to make sense of what's going on here. There's no clear lynch target in my mind at the moment. I'll reread today or tomorrow and see if I can spot anything else and post an analysis.
