I think either
A) His hand was forced, he knew my gambit would mean I would refuse to hammer and the majority would just end up eliminating him if he refused, so may as take a town down with you
and/or
B) HIs partner voted him which was a signal to sacrifice himself and let his partner try and win at MyLo/LyLo

I've been getting giving up vibes off saudade today and yesterday, and his push on me has made no sense, it makes no sense and it doesn't have the energy and indignance behind it that town-saudade who hates me usually has
