Can someone please walk me through the pros and cons of continuing? Thanks.

Cons: you have a 2/9 chance of exploding - if you draw either of your bombs, you will explode. If this happens, you will have to give up either your points OR your buys this round. Note that as I've exploded, this is a golden opportunity to catch up with me; exploding yourself wastes that opportunity. (Or you could take the VPs without the Buys. But if more people explode, I might very well change my mind about taking the Buys - I don't have to decide until everyone's done drawing one way or the other.)

Pros: you have a 7/9 chance of making extra progress without exploding, and a high chance of getting more Rubies. You've only got one; having two now means either extra starting power as we head towards the end OR making sure you can refresh your Potion quickly if you have to use it in the next two rounds. (Draw any 1-chip and stop: +1 Ruby. Draw your Green and stop: +1 Ruby. Draw any of your Black chips: +1 Ruby.)

If you roll a 1 or a 2, you'll move forward 2 or 3 spaces but your cauldron will blow up, and you'll have to choose between getting victory points or buys instead of getting both of them. You also won't get to roll the bonus die.

If you roll a 3 through 9, you'll get the benefit of an Orange 1, Black 1, Blue 1, Blue 2 or Green 1, and then you'll have to decide again if you want to keep going.

If you stop, you'll get 17 buys, 4 victory points and no rubies, and you won't get to roll the bonus die unless Inspiratieloos blows up and Felissan doesn't overtake you.

I've been shown evidence that this post used to be a dice roll where a Bomb 3 was drawn, and after contacting a listmod, we found other posts that may have been edited.

This is the first mish mash game I've run, and I'm honestly not sure what to do here, so I wanted to ask everyone for their thoughts.

I am dyslexic. I don’t recall what happened but I changed my mind BEFORE I even understood what happened. I didn’t realize editing wasn’t allowed, since I have been 100% transparent about that and you have not expressed any concerns about this previously. Apparently that was a misunderstanding on my part and I’m willing to accept the bomb 3 on the chance that I may have rolled it but not have been aware.

There are no other posts where this happened. So I don’t understand why there is even the remote suggestion of that. I made incorrect dice rolls and edited them because I was confused. I have done absolutely nothing wrong.

However, in order to make the rest of the players comfortable I will accept the bomb 3 whether or not I made a it by accident or not.

I don’t want anyone to have even the slightest doubt. It may be unfair to me but I take full responsibility for the mistake - and yes, that’s exactly what did indeed occur.

I've already stated part of my opinion to Snakes in private; now that Nancy has responded, I will make it public, finish it off, and explain it.

In a physical game, if a player has an option to draw a card - and does so, but then changes their mind after the card is revealed, I would argue that player should not be allowed to "undraw" the card, no matter how little time the player had to look at it, and no matter if the rules did not explicitly disallow "undrawing." Ditto for rolling a die, or any other random event - if the player did it legally, it's done and can't be undone, unless there's a specific mechanic of the game that says otherwise.

Was the die was rolled legally?

If yes, it counts, IMO, whether it's a Bomb 3, a Black 1, or any other result

. The timing was definitely legal. Unless the die itself was wrong (not a 1d9), then its results should stand. If the die was wrong, then Snakes's policies about rolling an incorrect die should apply.

Snakes's policies do not explicitly state that editing is disallowed. Additionally, I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt the first time something like this comes up. So I accept that Nancy intended to change her mind after submitting the post with the die roll without seeing the roll, and was not aware of how editing the post could be interpreted. I accept her declaration of responsibility, with one caveat - enforcing the in-game consequences of a player's actions is fair,

even if those actions were accidental.

That being said, I would strongly suggest explicitly forbidding editing and/or deleting posts made when a player is allowed to act, especially those with dice rolls in them - and that this change be made immediately, as it concerns game integrity.

Given the declaration of accident and the lack of an explicit no-editing policy at the time it happened, I think that nothing else - beyond enforcing the consequences of the roll (drawing a Bomb 3) - should happen.
