On the other hand one of the first good games I remember playing on the Amiga, Supercars 2, my brother and I still regularly enjoy playing today when we want a nostalgia rush.

I never actually owned an SNES somehow! I have played SMRPG though, via virtual console. I'm sure it will be good and I may pick up the remake at some point, bit I feel somewhat bored of rpgs for the last few years... I certainly played a ton of them when I was younger. Now, the Thousand-Year Door remake, THAT I'm excited for!
