gg's, scum team played well, fun game overall, although as most ppl have said, this game would have benefited from shorter deadlines

Luke had me fooled most the game, but not enough that I was ever going to protect them like Hectic would for Pav. I feel like my midgame reads were my best reads, and I shouldn't have second guessed them.

I didn't put any effort into scum hunting (until the final day) and all my reads were based in gut. I wanted the gun just so I could test my gut shots lol.

Not gonna lie. I poked around on the wiki and saw that Toog has a scary high win rate as scum and I was very nervous if Vulture flipped town.

I do have a crazy high scum win rate, most of which I survive to endgame. I like to think it's because most games people see me as obvtown and I skate under the radar until it's time to strike.

But I should also point out...

I despise playing scum. It makes me physically nauseous when I lie to people in real life, and that translates over to the game as well. I lose sleep at night and get the shakes sometimes every time I play scum, no joke lol.

When hectic was given the gun, I saw a chance for Hectic to shoot Toog and Toog to shoot Pav. But then Toog and Pav just kept posting when Vulture wasn't able to be on, and that window to victory closed :/

I don't think that this game is very fun for scum :/

I just felt so powerless the entire time. The scum having no ability to kill feels pretty bad. And it is such a hard line to walk, because even if you manage to convince the town to kill someone, if you did it loud enough, that person is likely to turn around and shoot you.

When I joined this game, I really entered under the assumption that I was going to be town and that this was going to be a meme game that ended in like ~10 days. And then neither thing happened

Yeah. I think a much shorter deadline, 48-72 hours is better.

I like the thought of vengeful scum, but maybe just one, maybe two at most, member(s) of the scum team, and let them pick pre-game who that is. This allows scum to tactically bus each other and give them a chance to reset the Gunbearer to person they find favorable.

I was fearful of exactly this.

I realized that the more Toog and I posted back and forth, the less I thought the panda was scum. At some point I became aware that even if he was scum, I was leaning townier on the slot over time just by virtue of the banter. If Vulture had been a part of the banter, I wonder...

My reasoning for giving it to Not_Mafia was that he is pretty good at scum hunting (but normally struggles to get town to follow him, but that did not matter this game) and he was always getting shot at some point. SOMEONE was going to shoot him. If he was going to get the gun, I wanted him to get it when there was the least amount of info for him to scum hunt with.

Which, for Hectic, similarly, I would have wanted him to have the gun and get out of the game as soon as possible. How hectic differed from Not_Mafia is that he was not going to get shot early and does have the ability to get town to follow him. So, by not giving him the gun off the bat, he was able to live long enough to solve the puzzle, and give town winning directions.

This would have been a very different game if I had known that Hectic was Art

but then my interactions with hectic overshadowed it, and my interactions with Pav mattered more, so it was all for naught.

Still, looking through our isos, I don't think I would ever guess the other one was a partner.

Off topic, this has been my favorite game so far on site. I joked about Hectic having a vision quest when he switched up his reads midgame, but I had one of my own. Basically this is like the 3rd game I've had as town where I just started getting scum reads on me and I couldn't figure out why. It was seriously stressing me out. But at a certain point - I guess it was when Luke pointed out the entire lobby was scum reading me - I just said hell with it,if my play gets me scum read I might as well have fun with it.

A relaxed Pav is a more fun Pav whether I'm winning or not. Let's see if that holds up next time I roll scum...

I felt that! You were just spewing your thoughts out and the town shone through. Playing like you have nothing to lose and being completely transparent is a strong strat as town. Filtering yourself as town only makes you look like scum generally.
