Persepia D&D 5e campaign (The Cult of Silver?)

Thwick pats the elf on the shoulder. "I'll pay you 50 gold each" echoes Brimley's voice. It's followed up by the sound of Goertz saying "You owe me a chair."

He shrugs at the elf and nods his head towards Brimley.

Cael hears the human addressing him and pretends he didn't.

“Nonya”.

She turns to Bramley

"50 gp? For what exactly? That sounds wildly unsafe."

Bramley looks at each of you in turn. "I need someone to infiltrate a group here in town. They call themselves "The Cult of Silver." They pass it off as haters of werewolves and other shapeshifters, but they're also big on helping eliminate poverty. It seems innocuous, and maybe it is. Perhaps you can get cozy with them, cozier than a guard could get, and find out. They're meeting tonight in a temple to Beld Vol near here. If you want to spend the day doing whatever, you can, but please meet there at nightfall and see what they're about. If you can help me find out what they're really up to and help bring them down if they're bad news, I'll give you 50gp each, maybe even more. How does that sound?"

Ashlyn seemed much cheerier than usual after hearing Bramley's words.

"A.. cult? That sounds.. intriguing."

She was invested in this mission, because it was of personal significance.

"...I will do this thing, for I do not like the sound of this organization. However, do not be mistaken. I am not a part of this group. Do not expect my aid when the rest of you screw up, for at present, it seems to me that the world would be a better place without you in it."

"The Fascinating Sharks!" Thwick says with a grin.

"Sounds good to me."

You all head to the temple at dusk, watching people slowly shuffle in and filling the pews. Inside is a small, humble temple dedicated to the god of light. On the pulpit are 3 people, two humans and a half-elf. One human is smiling warmly, dressed in an acolyte's robes. The other is armored, you gather he might be some sort of security or bodyguard. The half-elf is sitting down behind a harp, unsmiling.

By the time you get there, there's really only space for your group at the second row or the last row, unless you want to sit separately. It looks like the meeting is about to begin, do you do anything or do you just sit down?

He'd also like to take a closer look at the half-elf.

Thwick takes a good look at the crowd. They look a lot like the theater-goers: members of all races are included, though they are perhaps a little more segregated. There's about 50 people total, and most of them look to be somewhat disheveled or with tattered clothing, laborers and beggars. These are poor people mostly but every seventh person or so has a nice ring or clean clothes. No one is noble or rich here, no merchants or wealthy caravanners.

roll perception for the bodyguard. he's on stage so you'd have to get up on stage to socialize with him. if you wanted to socialize with the crowd you could pretty much ask a random person whatever you wanted

Caelus sits apart from Ashlyn and the Elf. Then studies the human dressed in an acolyte's robes.

Cael notices the acolyte dressed in typical robes of a cleric of Beld Vol. He's not young but he's not too old either, clean-shaven and well groomed. He's probably not destitute from his association with the temple, but he's not wearing anything ostentatious either.

As you filter into your seats, the man in the robes raises his hands, and everyone becomes quiet.

"Friends, I am a disciple of Beld Vol, but I come to you today speaking of a different cause. My name is Tanzime, and I am here to speak of some great problems in our beautiful city."

At this point the bard starts to play the harp. The first few notes are sweet.
